Cassian Andor and K-2SO Preview Up

By Sharkbelly, in Star Wars: Legion

Beautiful sculpts for them. Really like what Cassian brings to the table. K-2SO looks fun, but I don't care much for his 3-pip. I swapped over to droids when those released, but I'm probably gonna pick these up for my old Rebel army.

Tabletop Admiral updated.

Jyns Blaster still needs to be fixed to be cheaper on K-2SO if Jyn is in the army. Right now it's only cheaper ON her. I'll do that this afternoon.

K2-SO effectively has Infiltrate if you use covert Ops with Cassian. Sweet.

More than that, If you infiltrate with Cassian, then recon intel, then deploy K2, he can be almost on top of the enemy.

Both seem really good, I was going to use Cassian as a sniper originally, but I think he’s better up close with K2.

Now I just need to buy this. Jyn and a couple pathfinders. Then I could have an army where literally 1/2 of them have infiltrate.

With Jyn, Cassian, K2 and 1 Pathfinders unit you can easily infiltrate 400pts worth of your army to one of your opponents weaker flanks which could be quite a threat turn 1-2 with all the short range configs and K2's Guardian/Sacrifice. You would want to wait to deploy them last but the threat of this would force your opponent to deply units together, meaning you may instead have the option to just deploy for objectives instead in the space gifted.

Equally this list would easily mop up on recover the supplies.

What does the marksman keyword actually do?

And then find out that infiltrate isn’t very good. :(

Lets you convert a blank to a hit, or a hit to a crit

After you deploy the first infiltrate your opponent will deploy next to it and it always ruins that idea.

I want Baze and Chirrut unique heavy and personnel upgrades next!

Or y'know. More Hoth stuff.

Great sculpt options, iconic characters, and some interesting gameplay?

Yup, I’m in. I look forward to adding them for my rebel collection.

Jyn's Blaster cost should reduce properly now on Tabletop Admiral

I don't fully understand loadout

For each upgrade a unit with Loadout has equipped, you may set aside a different upgrade of the same type with equal or lesser points cost. When that unit deploys, you can swap any of your equipped upgrades with the set aside ones.

So, for example, you could have Hunter equipped by default and Offensive Push set aside. When you deploy, you could choose to swap Hunter for Offensive Push if, say, your opponent had few multi-wound Trooper units.

I hope they’re either a two man op unit like R2 or upgrades for pathfinders.

K2-S0 is a combination of Chewie in some regards and C3-P0. Teamwork with Cassian and can trigger Calculate? Super Guardian for a turn. All 3 Cassian command cards triggering teamwork. Some fun stuff to play with in there.

My only complaint about the minis is I wish Cassian wasn’t in the heavy coat. I would have preferred this look.

Never cared for Cassian nor Jyn. K2 is a funny character and less robotic than the leada ironicly.

Feels like he is made to boost special forces and espechially pathfinders. This is much needed so nice design.

K2's card is interesting. 1 turn only but guardian 4 with red defence is great.

How would they be deploying out of their zones??? You know infiltrate doesn’t have to be in the enemy deployment zone right? It can just be in a good spot within range 3 of it.

And if you save them for last, after day the non-infiltrate forces, you can absolutely outnumber them on their weaker flank.

As the president of the "jyn and Pathfinders are not just viable but good" club I approve of this message

I really just have to wonder if you do play this game... waiting till the end to use infiltrate gets you the least out of it. If they’ve deployed already, then you’re deploying 4 away from their edge, which is range 1 outside your deployment (so basically scout 2). Even further back if they’re playing shores/vets or scouting units (and everyone plays snipers). Once you deploy with one infiltrator it’s hard to get any others with them, especially if the first also uses recon intel. Luckily K2 doesn’t have to worry about this. Not saying infiltrate is bad, but it’s hard to coordinate with more than one unit.
