Tannhauser Mythopoeia

By Miah999, in Tannhauser

Well I finally picked up two new copies of the Tannhauser Revised Rules, and they are great, but I have my work cut out for me. As this is a true reboot of the Tannhauser Franchise, FFG seems to have cut the cord with the past, for instance no events (that I've read so far) take place after 1949, in the new manual there is no mention of S.H.E.U.F., or New Louisiana. And then there's the web site where all 1st edition information has been depercated, including all past scenarios, bonus token fluff text, and the Cronology. (all moved to a classic support page, further indicating FFG's complete break with the majorty of Tannhauser's Past.

So, how does this effect the Mythopoeia, well if I wish to keep all the information "cannon" my only real option is to delete all 1st edition references that do not also appear in the 2nd edition (I may place them in a Appendix), and edit the current articles to realign them to the 2nd Ed.

For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, go here: miah000.blogspot.com/2010/05/latest-mythopoeia.html .

Don't delete it.

Keep it and add a new vol.

It will be nice to go back and look at it.

Don't be too hasty... Better to wait it out a bit. There isn't a lot of fluff in the new rules, but who's to say that they have killed the past. Clean up what you know is changed and put in anything new, but wait for Daedalus to see what they are doing with the future.

Now don't worry I'll keep the original as is, and create a second containg only the current information, and simply add to it as FFG releases new material. My original was written well enough that I was able to create a new draft in two hours. I'll spend what little free time I get editing that into somthing postable, and you'll all see on the the bolg in about a week.

The original where stay where it is, so you all will still be able to look at it.

1st Edition fluff was very interesting, I hope that FFG will not "Hoolywoodyze" it by removing all those nice story elements.
