Release in Germany of wave 6 + Hotshot and Aces

By Sackfresse88, in X-Wing

Hello,

till now we are still waiting for the release of Wave 6 + Expansion packs.

Do you have any idea when we will get this?

Same in Norway, there's been some very limited stock apparently, but most of it never quite reached the shelves.

Same all over Europe. The Polish distributor received ca. 40% of their initial order.

I sam somewhere that another batch should arrive at the end of March, but this information is not confirmed.

Yeah same in Sweden. I managed to get lucky and snag 1x Never Tell Me The Odds and 1x Fully Loaded. I wanted 2x of the latter, 2x Hotshots and Aces, 1x Huge Ship Conversion Kit, and 1x Epic Battles. I placed an order before going on a 4 week vacation, got back, called the shop today, and they haven't recieved anything since the small initial shipment, they expect to get a shipment in a week or two.

There are also no retailer who could give you an answer, this is really a bad move and I will never order anything from FFG if the ships are not released again.

I bought a pack each of the Expansions (card Packs) at a store here in Berlin Germany. So they are in country but I believe stock is limited as my store only received 1 pack of the Fully Loaded Devices (thank god I got it). They also had at least one BA and Fireball.

I wonder more about legality for the system open. I would hope that it is allowed (like rz2s in Paris last year...), but Germans are a bit weird with their insistence on available product

@GreenDragoon I think that is an easy call for the SOS Hanover. I picked up copies of all of the card packs and ships are out there also and have been for over 14 days so ostensibly they are legal for play.

So in your country (Was it Switzerland?) you are allowed to proxy ships, dials and cards? Because if a product is simply unavailable for the largets parts of the player base it is only logical to not have it being non-legal.

Here in Switzerland it varies from shop to shop. We have no "official" tournaments except for the ones organised by the retailers. But at the moment most of them do not allow the new stuff since the german cards have not been released.

My point was more that we also have and personally I use exclusively english stuff. Germans generally insist on available German products. I remember the Paris SOS last year, when RZ2 A-Wings were basically unknown in July, because they were just not really available in France, and definitely not in french.

What @Gamma3101 said is mostly true, though our prime was of course an official tournament*. I think only one store explicitly allows proxies for cards, the other 3 don't as far as I know. With ships, X-wings, A-wings and TIE fighters (so virtually identical ships) are also ok as substitutes, no other ship proxies as far as I know. We've had at least once where somone forgot all dials for himself and his son, and we could give them all but one, so the dad proxied that last one. We'd rather have an additional player than insist on no proxies.

e: *and the upcoming StoreChamps will be the first in a long time. We had a single official tournament last year, and at least 4 already for the first half of 2020.

It's really disappointing, that Wave 6 isn't available in Germany yet.

I think a couple of german players ordered some english ships from the UK.

Me personally, I've been preordering the localized (german) version at my local flagship-store in november (with release being announced for december). By now I'm still waiting for my preorder....and I guess this situation applies to 90% of tournament-players in Germany.

A third of the current Hyperspace-Season is already over. A third of the season without access to the Fireball and Vonregs-TIE (and aces from the Hotshot-Pack....B-Wing-S-Foils and so on). A third of the season with very limited list-building-options. This sucks. I wonder if they will rotate Fireball and Vonreg out of Hyperspace just after they are available. oO

For the SOS Hannover in particular: Yes it would be disappointing if tournament-tourists can bring lists to the table which the local player-base can't. Seems unfair to me.

As it was the case for Milton Keynes, or Paris last year?

Besides, the german products are at least partially available, and some get english ones. The impact on the meta is not that large. Who matters in hyperspace? LeHuse? Holo? NomLomb? They are all good, but don't make or break lists or the meta at large. You still have to expect triple silencer, or FauxSalad, or 3 ship Scum with Boba and control elemens.
But for me personally it decides whether I will attend or not. I'm going to play 5A, and I won't spend 4 days and hundreds of € to travel to Hannover without Zizi.

@KettchGER I am sorry to hear about your pre-order problem and the shipment to your local FLGS. YES stuff is available in Germany from local stores without having had to pre-order and I was able to choose between products in German or English at my FLGS in Berlin.

So the way I see it and according to tournament rules product must have been released and available in country for at least 14 days prior to the event. I bought my stuff over 14 days ago ergo I would not be a tournament tourist for SOS Hannover as well as no one else in Germany should be considered that. I will bring my new stuff and fly it, it is legal and completely fair.

Just to be on the safe side I will bring a back-up list even though that i think would be unfair as I have bought product released in Germany over 14 days ago.

Maybe you should check other stores about the availability of their new product and or if they may have already sold out their new product stock due to high demand.

you guys get the localized products? they cut italian version since wave6. fireball, cards packs etc are not translated anymore. this sucks expecially because we will have collections in different languages.

Asmodee Germany (The German publisher for X-Wing) published a little announcement today re: Wave 6 availability issues - especially the German expansion packs.

The original plan was to have everything ready and shipped from China before Chinese New Year (for obvious reasons). Due to production delays in the local factories only a part of the order has been shipped on time. After the Corona outbreak CNY was prolonged and the Chinese suppliers are still not working normally, so everything which didn't make it out before CNY was very heavily delayed. The German shipment is expected to arrive in Hamburg port next week.

Did you buy a german wave 6 product or did you opt for the english product?

Afaik noone in Germany has seen a loclized Wave-6 ship so far, since the ship hasn't arrived in Hamburg yet.

The last localized products we got were the epic-conversion-kit and the epic-missions-rulebook.

@KettchGER I purchased English written product but that was my choice as I could have purchased German Product if I wanted to as it was in the store.

Either way the product was shipped to the store via FFG/Asmodee so it does not matter what language. I have seen the TIE BA in German and the Fireball in German at my store.

Just because stock rolls off the boat in a city does not mean it is delivered to stores in that city. As mentioned above some stuff was shipped out on time some not.

Which store? And when did you see it?

Vermutlich klingts etwas aggressiver als du möchtest, zumindest für mich. Geht es dir darum, evtl auch dort etwas zu bekommen? Oder geht's um fact checking?

@GreenDragoon you are probably right, but who knows maybe it is not meant so aggressive.

@KettchGER the store had a small limited amount of things that came in. Like I said I say only One tie ba and one fireball. That was 14 days ago and they may have been bought by now. I got the only fully loaded set and also picked up the hotshots and aces, I think the store had another few sets of that also 2-4 idk. Also I was able to get one of the never tell me the odds pack and at the time there was at least one of these packs in German at the store. If you do not believe me I do not care as I have no need to lie about this. If you are looking to get something try looking up one of the following stores here in Berlin and asking the store if they still have something left. Funtainment, gamers hq, or battlefield Berlin.

@GreenDragoon nett auf deutsch zu schrieben. Tut mir leis das mein antwort konte ich nicht auf deutsch schreiben Weil das ist schwerig fur mich.

It's a problem even in Canada.

Kirk mate, according to the distributor portal of Asmodee the official release in Germany is set to March, after the container with the localized German product will arrive in Germany and has been distributed to local stores. It really, really does not matter when you bought your English product when it comes to tournament legality. Just saying, because you seem very adamant about the fact that you already own W6 product, so it will be legal for you to play ;)

It was probably the english version. Some stores had the english versions for a short amount of time in stock. They sold out fast. I imported my Vonreg and the card packs.
