RITR - Rebels: Flesh Out a List

I'm putting together 2 fleets task forces from my meager collection for my first RITR campaign.

I'm pretty happy with my first TF: AF MkIIA (Boarding Engineers), MC-30 Scout (OE), CR-90A at 200pts. Thinking Surprise Attack, Rift Ambush, and Salvage Run for objectives.

I'm in a tougher spot building the second TF, though. I've got a LMC80, H1MC80, 2 Nebs, and 2 CR-90s left; for squadrons I have the Core X-wings, plus 1 Rebel I and 2 R&V.

My first thought is squad heavy with H1MC80 Command and a Neb Support to finish off anything that gets past the pickle. I would have enough for a CR90B or a couple squads. Would another ship be more helpful than Wedge+Dutch or maybe Biggs+Luke?

So, just a couple of suggestions:

Squadrons are an incredibly powerful aspect of the RitR game. My first rule in almost any RitR task Force is to make sure I take two powerful ace squads. It’s one of the most impactful things you can do with your starting fleet. There are exceptions, sure, but keep the “use your two ace allotment” rule in mind.

Second, I don’t hate the AFMkIIA, but I feel like there’s a pretty specific build I’d want to see with it, and it probably involves Local Fire Control. In the fleet setup you have currently, I would cut it (and Boarding Engineers) for a MkIIB, save what, 12 points? and gain excellent carrier capability.

I like the first list a lot!

The second one might be good, but you haven’t got a lot of meat on your ships, and they lack a little offensive punch. You may find yourself just flat-out unable to face big tanks like ISDs for a while. Maybe try shaving some points off your squadrons and getting some Turbolaser Reroute Circuits for the Corvettes, and Ordnance Experts or APTs or something for the Scout? I hate to violate my own rule, but I’d probably drop Kanan to accomplish this. Dash can run on his own for a battle or two and probably be fine; just don’t leave him hanging where he’s gonna get jumped by superior forces, and get some squadron mates for him soon!

I will tweak the second list some more, see what I can come up with. Would it be worth dropping Kanan and the CR90s for a LMC80?

I like it! I’d switch the MC30 to a Torpedo Frigate, drop Rogue Squadron, and use those points (plus the two you have left over) to buy a 22 point Rogue ace with defense tokens. Mart Mattin, Corran Horn, Ketsu Onyo. They’re all great.
