There probably should be, as that would provide some opportunity cost. We are establishing Field Commander at least, which is something I have been wanting for some pilots...

EDIT: Actually, we should eratta Wedge to give Field Commander to, he's kind of a leadery guy.

Opportunity cost? There's already another pilot that's pretty widely considered to be the best one for Rebel repulsorlift units.

Luke would be unique, so you can't Luke Commander or Operative and also Luke pilot. Theoretically.

Yeah, but leading a battle from a tank is probably a bit easier than zooming around flying.

I've always felt the movement off of the Speeder keyword was goofy. These units move just slightly more than a trooper unit if both take 2 move actions.

Maybe Speeder keyword should be:

Get X free moves on your turn, where X is your Speeder X. Yes,bikes and t47 get 3 free moves.

THAT would make all the really bad Speeders (all of them in the game) worth playing, and they would be more thematic and plausible.

And it removes the thematic crashing of the speeder bikes, plus would likely be accompanied by a significant increase in points since that is all upside.

Speeder is supposed to represent units that have to keep moving or else land. A T-47 sitting in one place isn't very thematic, it's equivalent to an airplane, not a helicopter. A speeder bike in one place is a"target" as is a landspeeder.

The board is already roughly the scale size of a football pitch, most of these vehicles shouldn't even be on the board for long.

That would be ridiculous. 3 speed 3 moves for free, after which they could aim and shoot, or just keep moving. They could be in someone's back lines on turn 1. Yea no I think the speeder keyword is fine as it is.

This makes so little sense it makes me wonder if you've played Legion. You're saying that a small base doing 2 speed-2 moves is "just slightly more" than a Huge or Medium base doing 3 speed-3 moves?

How is that 3 free moves? The bikes have Speeder 1, which would be 1 free move, which is exactly what they already do. Only the T-47 would get a buff, and at Speeder 2 would still only get 2 free moves, not 3.

I actually really like this idea. But like others have said it would be 1 free move for bikes. Two free moves on the airspeeder however would make it really playable

The new RRGs have generally been posted a week in advance to going into effect as far as I can remember, with the most recent one at least accompanied by a news post.

I've seen less well publicized FAQ/Errata for other miniature wargames.

Really? Because the announcement of the RRG update is still on the front page. Sure they could possibly have made it bigger, but that's not what they chose to do. It's not like the entire main page of the US site is covered in Legend of 5 Rings. Plus you do have the option of checking the Star Wars Legion news only by going to the Legion Product page and looking at the news on the right hand bar.
