Kylo Holo +2 Extended

Not sure how to build out the upgrades on this team. Maybe proton torps? More mag pulse missiles? Hate? Any thoughts?

Hate is probably better than Brilliant Evasion. They both do essentially the same thing (Force Efficiency), but Hate is typically more consistent. Mag Pulse are probably fine. Part of me thinks it'd be sweet to pair with Heightened Perception, to try to MPW Vader before he can attack... Jamming Vader's lock turns him from a tiger to a kitten. A mean feral kitten who can still scratch really good, but still. Heightened Perception is probably a silly idea, though.

Holo is solid. I'm hesitant on Dueterium Power Cells, just because they're expensive, and maybe it'd be better to bring some bid with you. Could go either way. DPC are pretty new, and probably hasn't gotten enough reps for anything more than first impressions. Seems particularly nice on Holo, though, since you might be able to hand your "disarmed" token to one of the TIEs, and still shoot with Holo.

I guess MPW and DPC could be switched for Proton Torpedoes on Kylo. Those are nice. I guess it'd come down to preference.

Anyhow, it's a list with no bad pilots, probably no bad upgrades (DPC are still a bit of an unknown), no fragile synergies. Should be at least decent.

I haven't seen it around much yet, but based on the close relation Deuterium Power Cells has with R2 Astromech I expect it to get some use on the Aces, Holo in particular as BitterFig suggested can shed the disarm. That said, I know for sure that i5 aces appreciate having some bid so DPC might be a good place to cut a bunch of points.

I'm not really sold on Proud Tradition yet. It could be good in concert with Primed Thrusters for running away... But on paper I feel like if you use the option to focus while stressed then attack it's somewhat easy for your opponent to take it away and turn your focus action red on one of your most important ships for the rest of the game :( if you just never attack while stressed then you're either passing on attacks or not using the 2pt talent at all. Alternatively, you save it for the end game when you just need focus after a k-turn to finish off your opponent, but if you only use it once it's it worth 2pts? Maybe, I guess that is what Cybernetics goes for.

Definitely give it a run though! I could be way off base with my head sim and is like to hear about experience with both DPC and PT :)

I thought proud tradition on holo would be good since it can't easily be flipped. Holo does a red move + focus, then passes away the stress so PT can't get flipped. Maybe that is wrong though. I am still unsure about if I want DPC and Mag pulse or just Proton torpedoes on Kylo for some extra punch. I see the mag pulse keeping him from taking damage better in a 1v1 joust but the Proton Torpedoes are better at crippling/erasing droids and swarms

That's an excellent point! I wasn't considering Holo's ability to give away stress, I think you found the niche where it's worth at least as much as it costs :) As long as you can arrange to have a sponge nearby at the right time.

DPC v Torpedoes is the age old question of whether to be defensive or just kill things faster. That comes down to personal style and meta considerations for me. Try it both ways if you get the chances.

Yep. I think Proud Tradition has a home on kinda three ships exactly: Holo, Muse, and Omega TIE/fo (maybe Longshot). Holo and Muse* can ditch the stress, Omega TIE/fo are cheap enough that they don't mind having it flipped, and can cope with the red focus, or adapt to other actions. Anyone else? Naw.

*Proud Muse is legit for 32 points. A real champ of a filler ship, wicked fun to keep S-Looping and K-Turning.

No joke, I'm tempted to run this full 200 list:

(76) Kylo Ren [TIE/vn Silencer]

(1) Instinctive Aim

(4) Advanced Optics

(13) Proton Torpedoes

Points: 94

(54) "Holo" [TIE/ba Interceptor] (2) Proud Tradition Points: 56

(25) Epsilon Squadron Cadet [TIE/fo Fighter]

(25) Epsilon Squadron Cadet [TIE/fo Fighter]

Basically any ship moving after you can be shot with 4 die in a very large area. If you pass Holo's Focus to Kylo you have a 74% chance of 4 hits/crits (AO works on all attacks)...

Fenn is nopeing out of that area of the board!

I need to try out this list. I never thought about optics and torpedoes with IA.
