So if rumors of cards to come are correct, some characters that are now allies will also appear as heroes and some characters that are now heroes will appear as allies. What are your thoughts on this?

On the one hand it is nice because players can build the exact superhero team-ups that they want. For example if your favorites are Iron Man and Spider-Man you can never have them together in your deck if they are heroes, but with an Iron Man ally you can now have the exact team you want as a single player.

However I lean more towards the opinion that there are about 1000 Marvel characters I want to see in the game and every repeat is a lost opportunity. Thus ultimately I would rather we just get new characters rather than the versatility of hero and ally duplicates.

I would love a Squirrel Girl Hero Pack so much !

I’d really like to see ally versions of all of the preeminent Marvel characters, before we start getting obscure characters like Night-thrasher or Machine Man. I think it will help invite new players to the game. I’ll be bummed if they just abuse characters though and we get a card for every title Steve Rogers has held over the last 70 years.

I hope we see as much variety as possible before getting repeats. I don't mind Allies being released as Heroes though, as I really hope to play some of my favorites Heroes which are already Allies (Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Vision, etc.). I do hope we won't get new versions of the same characters for a long while at least.

I wonder how much freedom the designers really have in selecting which Heroes/Villains to release, and in which order/priority. Everything has to be approved by Marvel/Disney, but I'm curious if they also influence or impose what to design first, etc.

I like it. Firstly it's cool to have both versions. It's also fun to be able to include them in decks, even if you aren't playing as that hero. It also gives FFG more 'time' to spread out the main and marketable heroes - thus giving the game a longer lifespan.

But crucially, because of the unique rule and just how powerful ally cards are in general, it's a clever design trick, because it limits their use - if they didnt repeat heroes/allies, then quite quickly you could run a deck with a ton of allies that could prove to be busted

A Defenders box would be cool, especially as the Netflix team is in the comics now. We've had all of them as allies already. Having them as 4 options in a story box with 4 sets of aspect cards would be swell. Probably Daredevil/Leadership, Jessica Jones/Justice, Luke Cage/Aggression, Iron Fist/Protection. I'm also interested to see how they handle Jessica Jones' identity card.

I'd also certainly be happy to see the rest of the Avengers that we already have as allies like Hawkeye and Hulk, but I expect these are already coming. Other Avengers we already have as allies like Spider-Woman, Herculus, Valkyrie are welcome but I bet they'll get the big ones mostly out of the way before doing other stuff.

I'd love to see how Doctor Strange will work as an ally as well.

While I want the ones I mentioned above, I hope that they intersperse repeats with new stuff. Currently, this seems to be the case. Both Thor and Doctor Strange are not allies in existing decks and include allies that are not already heroes. I expect that pattern will continue.

None of this is rumor anymore, Black Widow is going from Ally to Hero, and Iron Man is going from Hero to Ally. It's totally confirmed.

I knew this but i was kind of trying to avoid spoilers for those who do not want to know the exact cards coming

I rather have them repeat Heroes as Allies, than having duplicate Allies in several packs
