I've worked on a setting inspired by MtG. It's essentially modified magic rules using colored mana and new talents per Ravnica guilds.

Add one mana of any colour as a maneuver once per turn.

Use mana to add effects to spells or upgrade the skill check.

Mana colour determine the kind of effect you can add to the spell and the primary colour of the spell determine the statistic used with the magic skill for the check.
