Fight or Flight in the Highland?

By rimmer3, in Talisman Rules Questions

We play mode Fight or Flight in the Dungeon. (Characters must move in the direction of the arrows. They move against the direction of an arrow only when they declare they are fleeing the Dungeon.) We like this mode because it's more difficult.

Why is not this alternative rule mentioned in The Highland rules . Is not The Highland supposed to be played like this?

The Fight or Flight mode in Dungeon is to make it more live a dungeon delve. Highlands is more like going through the mountains, you don't have walls hemming you in and guiding you one way or the other.

At least that's the way I see it.
