Rob having fun with 3d Printing

By ThatRobHuman, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

So I banged out a couple of 3d models a few weeks back, and, well, now I make 'em and paint 'em!

If y'all want a copy of your own, I've got a storefront up: https://store.kdyards.com/ <plug>

On to the eye-candy!

Imperial Nebulon-B frigate designed by ECHenry and Angelos Karderinis, brought to the Armada world by me.

Hapan Spectre Space Superiority Fighter inspired by EVE Online - modelled by me.

Spectre Painted Sqadron 01

That Neb B is awesome @ThatRobHuman !

I am trying to buy 3, but when I hit calculate shipping, I get "apicky is invalid or missing", and can't proceed with the checkout.

Doing this on my phone, if that matters.

Insufficient coffee

Can you give it a refresh and try it again? there's a heartbeat that pulls a new api token every 10 minutes or so (the old one expires in 15 minutes after page load) you should still be fine, but maybe I didn't code that heartbeat for mobile so great

Oh hey! It looks like it worked! Did you end up having to go to desktop or did it work itself out?

Your 3 Nebulons will be in the post by tomorrow :)

I just took too long finishing the order. The site is fully functional on the phone if I flip it to landscape.

Already got the Shipment notification! Thanks @ThatRobHuman !

Weird... it should have automatically used the refreshed token... I'll see if I can hunt down the bug. I also plan on making it a bit more mobile friendly.

Hope you enjoy it! :)

Oh, I will! I have been wanting a few of those since ECHenry released his video. Probably the best fan addition to the lore in years!

I know its a bit large but would you ever consider doing a Nebula Star Destroyer?

If you are unfamiliar with this ship:

I'd consider anything. Mel has one, mind you, but sure, I'll eventually be rounding my collection out in all sorts of directions.

@ThatRobHuman , my 3 Imperial Neb-Bs were waiting for me when I got home yesterday! They look beautiful!

Looking forward to your next creation, while I contemplate what the card for a "more robust" Neb-B should look like.

Thanks Rob 👍

I'm really glad you liked it!

For what it's worth, I'd strongly recommend considering if you really want to add the extra hull point. It seems to be obligatory among people who want to make designs for it, but I can't help but wonder if it's really the best way to represent that - a kind of low-hanging fruit, respectfully speaking. I'd recommend seeing what a boosted engineering rating would do :).

I'm trying to look at it more along the lines of ECHenry's description; the best combination of a Arquintis and a Gozanti with none of the negatives. The shield configuration could be improved, the defense tokens, as you mentioned, the engineering value, or any combination of the above.

Hull value honestly seems like the last thing I would want to adjust. If you look at the GSD as the next step up, then surpassing its Hull value is probably the wrong way to go.

Looking at them all at the same time, I am really leaning towards the addition of a Defensive Retrofit upgrade icon or the addition of 2 side shields, and adding a die to the side arcs.

This imperial nebulon-b is so awesome but 105$ shipping is justtoo much to pay for shipping ;(

Next two ships available at KDY (well, a ship and a conversion kit - you gotta provide your own MC75).

Also, until the end of april use "SHELTERINHOBBY" as a discount code and get 15% off, because you should stay home if you can.

@ThatRobHuman A question about your painted Neb B in the first post: Did you basecoat it in black or dark grey and then drybrush it heavily with light grey or white? Or did you paint it in a lighter hull color and then used a wash or ink on the panel lines?

I got my rebel ship colors pretty much down by now, but my imperial colors always seem off, and I love your look.

I will definitely need a Nebulon A, and now I have a reason to get a third MC75!

I will order as soon as some of this craziness starts to pass.

Hopefully you will have even more new ships by then! Any chance you are thinking of doing the e other obscure ships that E.C. Henry detailed on his Chanel?

I prime on black, base coat in light grey, wash with black, and drybrush very lightly with white
