this correlates with a standard D6 where 5 and 6 would be the active defence roll sides, hence the term save on a 5+

In the live stream they commented that in Attack of the Clones she is more accurate with it than the B1's, and that's why they designed it as is.

In episodes I - VI, Padmé has the best hit ratio of any hero. Leia is second.

Well that's not really the base unit problem, it's the fact that strike teams are so effective. I mean rebel commandos aren't bad, but 2 strike teams are just more effective in most lists.

The scout troopers are just poorly designed since range 2 is terrible for an imperial unit. Reducing the cost is not gonna help them compete with shoretroopers and deathtroopers.

I was being facetious haha. Legion doesn't use real D6, so theres no need to use that term here.

I don’t think scouts were poorly designed so much as they were designed in a more limited vacuum space before a player meta had evolved. The Imperial gun line is a player driven concept more than a gameplay driven one.

The creep of other units didn’t help any, but don’t kid yourself. They weren’t largely played anyway even before shores or Deathtroopers were a thing.

I think I’m the only person I know who fielded a full scout unit + sniper for a lot of my gameplay when I had more time for regular games. But that was the era before all the Rogue One goodies.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s a way of thinking about dice that’s rooting in 40k. Models will have defenses that say you need a #+ to block damage. A white defense die with surge to block has a 2/6 chance of blocking, which is the same odds as needing a 5 or better on a standard d6.

Well I'd bet a lot of us started with 40k before moving on to a superior game 😁. It is a little easier to discribe the odds as 5+ instead of white defense with surge lol.

On topic, I'd agree that a new upgrade pack to make scouts useful isn't the best way to approach this, much as I'd like a new heavy weapon for them. I could see a points decrease, or an errata to add a new rule or two to the unit (I have no idea what new rules they should get, but I think they need something).

I prefer to look at it as 5+ (5/6) vs 4+ saves because it's easier to calculate the odds. Compared to red save. Or white save. Or red with surge, etc.
