With the reveals today can we now hypothesise that Both Empire and Rebel the snipers will lose pierce and gain Lethal and that the base units (Empire Scouts, Rebele Commandoes )will get some kind of adjustment. Like reducing the cost of scouts and Commandoes and increasing tue Scouts to scout 2

Except they said in the stream that its intentional. The Republic and Empire have better sniper rifles, the Republic and CIS have better soldiers, but worse rifles. And that they wanted to make the snipers different.

Fine but the base units still need help

I know I'm personally okay with it, because these new snipers seem very strong. Especially in factions with either very good order control and token sharing. Plus there's also good reason to actually take the full SF unit, which is a nice change of pace from the GCW

Which base units? Commandos and Arcs seem just fine. Rebel Commandos have no reason to use the full unit with pathfinders being a thing and scout troopers have a devastating short ranged attack but are too risky to rely on with their poor defense.

Yes i'm talking about Empire Scouts and Rebel Commandoes

I thought the rifles for GAR and CIS were better dice-wise, I guess their keywords are less effective>?
On the one hand, Weapon A is Weapon A, on the other hand, when Padme loots an E-5 blaster, suddenly it's a killing machine (RW Pierce 1 wat).
Interestingly also, the upgrade for droids doesn't even specify the weapon model (LFL probably didn't let them name it) just refers to it as the Sniper holding it, which may explain the "better soldier" comment.

It's not the first time; General Veers gets 3x as many dice from an E-11 as well as pierce 1.
Why would they?, Not every unit have to be the same and the rebel/imp strike teams already got a point increase.
If these new units are underpowered or too pricy then maybe they should have been changed before release raher than nerf older units. I don't see the logic here and these new units and upgrades arent even fully spoiled yet.

Right, but that's technically "his" E-11, which either means it's modified or just his mauve shirt powers make it better. Padme's is "looted' and just is better despite picking it up off the ground, is the joke.

The dice is supposed to both show the power of the gun and the capability of the model shooting. The E-5 is supposed to be powerful, light, and somewhat inaccurate. So it makes sense the inaccuracy is highlighted with the B1s. Then someone who is trained in small arms shooting picks up the same weapon and is able to account for the inaccuracies of the base gun, it makes sense the power of the gun shows.

Also it's a main character in star wars. I mean Leia, han and lando seem very accurate with e-11's despite not spending hours and hours on fire drills like the stormtrooper probably do. It's space adventures with Heroes and villians.

Just think of how much more precise they would be if they were imperial stormtroopers!
Also, who's to say there isn't a fire mode selector for power or rate of fire that the droids aren't programmed to use?
The heavy weapons teams I find to be fairly balanced with one having a slighter better weapon and the other being a tanker unit with better keywords.
However at squad levels it doesnt even appear close but I have always though the commandos and scouts were overpriced at the squad level and based on what I have seen play that could be consensus.

i'm don't think the new units are undercosted at all i'm saying the Scouts and Rebel Commandoes are overcosted and not even close to the new units.

Yes, but he's packing at AT-AT just off-table. 😉

If you want each faction’s units to be identical to each other can I suggest a Star Wars themed Chess set instead?

No i want people to play Scouts and Rebel Commandoes which no one does

Seems like something best solved with an upgrade expansion, Scouts in particular really want for a short range heavy weapon.

I believe people don't take them because for 60 points for 4 wounds and a 5+ save and keywords that dont mesh like being called Scouts and having the shortest scout move

Printing a whole new expansion just to fix a previous expansion so its actually worth playing is a really bad idea, just look at what happened with X-wing 1.0 for evidence of that.
Fixing the rebel commandos with a point adjustment is a far more suitable solution.

I agree

What's a 5+ save?
