I'm surprised Cad Bane doesn't have Gunslinger

Let me know what I'm missing!125 points for 6 wounds with white defense (surge to block) isn't great, even with the extra rolls for suppression. I think he is too fragile for his cost. Compare him to Sabine who also sits at 125 points.
Throw in its pretty clear that they want him to jump around in melee and that is a super risky. I really like that harass idea better for him thought.
Also playing white dice on anything (besides B1s) make me hear gunfire and helicopters blaring Creedence Clearwater Revival. Watching a danger sense 4 Jyn with cover just melt still gives me PTSD.

Yeah but he's got the extra wound and extra courage. Not every operative should be the same even if costed the same. There's a formula they use to price these figures and then there's some playtesting. If he was only 115 would we compare him to Bossk?

If he did, the dice pool would have to be worse or he'd be hella expensive.

That combination is good, but the range of his weapon might become an issue. You will probably have to play him rather conservative to keep him alive. That could also make it difficult to take advantage of bounty and his melee weapon. His pricetag is on the same level like a unit of Deathtroopers with a lot of blingbling, after all.

Yeah, there is also his gimmick that will mirror Padme's (Show a command card for a bonus) so it is definitely too early to write him off, but it just feels fragile. I once lost Boba Fett to a single z-6 rebel squad which got 9 hits. Boba went from five 5 to zero on turn one. I never played him again. #RedDiceVarianceStinks

Yes he can melt but the designers are wanting him to exhibit the temperament from the cartoons. He can go toe-to-toe with a jedi but he's got to be tricky to stay alive more than 1 turn. He usually runs away if multiple threats appear

That means his survivability is based on having well-positioned line-of-sight blocking terrain. A lot of players are going to equate that with “bad.”

This exactly. I guess FFG thinks that Danger Sense is really effective at keeping units alive but its really not. Jyn's Danger Sense 3 is kinda helpful but only Danger Sense 2 on Bane? Thats not gonna help much at all. I think he needs Danger Sense 2 AND Uncanny Luck 2 or three. THAT would make him a sweet unit that I'd be excited for

I've had those odds and I have played a game where Jyn took 6 different salvos before she died (usually she takes 2-3 and melts even with full danger sense and heavy cover)
Red dice seem amazing when they're hot. I've blanked out on my red offensive dice as well so there's always variance.
I guess I'm just still excited for him anyways, especially if the command cards let him scalpel out key units (like commanders or jedi). Plus it gives another unit option so we can turn a dooku into 2-3 activations, which is nice.

I'm honestly baffled by how most players uderappreciate Danger Sense. Sure, it's not like surging red dice with imprevious, and it will fail from time to time, as those pesky whities do. However I cannot count how many times these extra dice had saved my day on both Jyn and Pathfinders.
Is Cad a bit overcosted? Yeah, we'll see when we'll know all his command cards. For now, his 3pip is literally awesome and is one of the best scenario oriented cards.
Also, all the news look great! I play neither CIS nor GAR, but I wish that i had.
Speaking of points, can anyone make out the cost of the BX droids? Looks like maybe 22 for the strike team, and maybe 68 for the full unit? Though that would make the full unit cheaper than ARCs but the Strike Team more expensive than ARCs, which doesn't make a lot of sense.

Excited for him, but I think he won't really shine until CIS gets their cheap commander. Seems like a high risk high reward unit and I wish that had stayed in Rebels lol.

Oh Jyn I have seen her run away from an AT-ST in the open and live 4 turns and I have seen her die in heavy cover to a stiff breeze. I do not trust danger sense, but I hope that he can just jump between enemy units and will not get shot at all.

I played Jyn a lot when she came out. Danger Sense did diddly squat for me. It's just luck, but it scarred me for life.
