You are both going in circles, jeez.

Are there any OT-era ships that we see in canon that have yet to be statted up that we think might have a chance at appearing in the book?

I'm assuming PT- and ST-era ships won't be in there unless they already exist in another book.

Personally, I’m thinking the new material will be “named” ships, in much the same way that the new material in Gadgets and Gear was personal gear for established characters.

Yeah I already answered that, multiple times. You can just read the thread.

Hey, Tramp! You’re being treated inhumanely, despite your stated preference for freelance work.

I bet your clients even say that Jango isn’t Mandalorian. 😜

we have no info but the original anouncement from FFG

the 2 versions of the falcon (lando's and han)

the mag-train from solo

the republic dreadnaught from the OT-ST interquel

considering the wealth of starships from legends, it's anyone's guess. likely some named ships like bobba fett's slave 1 like personal gear in G&G

The Mandalorian Fang fighter, of course! :P

Fang fighter is already in the game. In Dawn of Rebellion, and one of the F&D career books.

facepalm

it was a joke because 3 versions in 3 different books already exist...

It’s already there three times.

Which, I dare say, is why Stan made that particular prediction, with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

And in No Disintegrations, but I think his point was that we needed a statblock to call official, as from what I've heard, the different sources are all over the place.

your answer equated to what you consider acceptable compensation is the only thing that is humane. Personal choice is apparently not ok.

iirc, all 3 are written with different builders, so it's just 3 versions of the same fighter really

Based on the pattern inside the cover of AaA (the only one of the three that I have), it looks like we're getting AaA, GaG, and SaS and that'll be it.

I hope we get the "hero ships" for the characters statted in AaA, especially Doctor Aphra's, as that is a very... "unique" ship. I wonder what sort of custom attachments or additional qualities they'll have?

No no, we need a fourth version! And a fifth!

Edit: a whole book! Let's call it Fangs & Fighters, it's even got the requisite alliteration.

With regards to hero ships, I guess we would be looking at:

Han's Falcon (confirmed)
Lando's Falcon (confirmed)
Luke's X-Wing
Fett's Slave 1
Vader's TIE

as fairly confident guesses, though I would hope for a few less obvious ones. The Ghost maybe? I can't remember if that's in Dawn of Rebellion or if we just got a generic VCX.

A Falcon write-up with three versions, one for Solo,,one for the OT, and one for the ST, maybe.

it's in DoR

outliers would be aphra's ark angel or even the mantis from fallen order

Maybe Ark Angel I and II? If we're doing three versions of the Falcon...

Perhaps the Lady Luck?

Generic VCX was in one of the FaD books. The Ghost and both Phantoms were in Dawn of Rebellion. Which doesn’t preclude its being reprinted.

Tantive IV, maybe?

Executor (despite not having baseline stats for the SSD)?

Is the crime boss's vertical yacht from Solo written up already?

The ship they use for the train robbery?

AT-Hauler...good call. I’m not sure if I ever finished up my homebrew pass on that one.

Isnt the AT hauler in Dawn of Rebellion

neither are written up

Sure

But THEY haven't given any hint of complaining, so why do you automatically assume they have reason to do so and haven't been given other benefits as compensation, such as those mentioned by Tramp graphics, for those that decided to accept the freelancing deal?

Given the opportunity, I'd snag a freelance deal with FFG in a heartbeat .

Why does this tangent continue?

As for your question: it's because I have both seen and read about the difficulties of being a freelancer, and have experience as temp worker, which is a similar situation. But even without all that I could tell you that firing people and having them perform the same work but with less benefits is exploitative, because I'm capable of basic empathy and have a conscience.

But about those starships: maybe we'll get more ships-as-terrain examples in the book, that would be cool. Give rules for acting on the outsides of ships during engagements (like in Phantom Menace or Rise of Skywalker).

Just because there are difficulties with freelancing, does not means we freelancers are inherently being "exploited", to use your words. In-house employees can just as easily be "exploited" and have even worse working conditions that a freelancer.

25 minutes ago, Stan Fresh said:

Like I said earlier: "If you want them to work in halfway humane conditions, they do. "

Wrong . A freelancer chooses his or her own working conditions. They're not set forth by the company he or she is currently contracting with. By contrast, an employee is bound by the working conditions of the facility he or she works in.

23 minutes ago, Daeglan said:

What is inhumane about someone doing freelance work?

Exactly. There is nothing "inhumane" about freelance work. Many people prefer it over working on staff.

Cool. How long did previous books take to get to you?

Four business days from Minneapolis to Atlanta.

negative

DoR was way before Solo

Ah yes, an SSD would be a nice USP for picking up the book.

LbE had stats for the Assertor-class Command Dreadnought. (seriously though, Star Wars ship costs are crazy cheap. You could buy 4 of the darn thing for the cost of a single Nimitz!)
