I was reacting to someone (don't remember if it was you) shaking their fist in anger at EA, which seems misguided. I'm well aware of the timing here.

Wasn't me. I have a realistic grasp on the legal issues involved

Also, while short, I enjoyed fallen order a lot and respawn (EA subsidiary) has a sequel in developpement. So while not an EA fan, I'm mildly hopeful about the future

They do. If they want to, they can get out of that contract. They are the 80,000 pound whale in the room.

They just haven’t wanted badly enough to get out of that contract. Or maybe they haven’t even noticed the RPGs and so they don’t feel there is any reason to want to get out of them.

2 words: massive penalties

and whatever we think of EA, they're still a well known big company that has successes from time to time

does anyone know what vehicles and ships didn’t make it into the speeders and starships book? I mean out of the ships already stated out

A lot of them. It’s only about 150 pages (give or take), most taking a full page, with a handful of two page entries (and the YT-1300 checking in at three to cover the base model, the YT Dart, and both Lando and Han’s versions of the Falcon), plus the standard opening pages (title, fiction, credits, contents, chapter titles, etc).

It's also a good bet that, if the original source for the starship/vehicle did not feature artwork, it probably did not show up in this book.

Which is too bad... I would still like some art for the 4R3 Light Assault Transport.

Please tell me they didn’t put the ties in it. Except the defender or scimitar the iconic ones are too iconic already lol.

Okay, I won’t tell you that they did.

Seriously?! Lol not really surprising. Are all of them in it, the tie’s? 8 at least I think.

well if you are compiling ships from across several books why wouldnt you want TIE fighters in that compilation?

It’s a catch 22. On one end it’s redundant on the other they are just so iconic.

If you are consolidating from several sources which is what this book does it would be foolish not to include them

If the idea is it's a reference book you'll want to keep at the table every session rather than a splat you dip into every now and then then yeah TIEs need to be there.

Just think with them being in every core book wouldn’t need them in another book. Make room for those that didn’t make any of the current books. Or add pictures of stuff that didn’t have pics.

Pretty much what iconic means. But thinks.

New art is more costly (in time & money) than stuffing in more of the same old. Needing new art almost guaranteed something wouldn't be in this book. Most (all?) of the "new" art not previously seen in the RPG came from X-wing or Armada.

So it’s compliance

To me the new black books are reference books. I would have hoped that ALL of the ships and speeders would have been in them removing or down-sizing the art significantly if needed. If they can't all be there, then I would think the most iconic would fill the pages first. If there is some rare treasure from a little-used setting of the SW Galaxy, yep that's the one to be cut. If that ship is rarely if ever used, it's the one that you need to go to an old book to look up. Not the one that has potential to be used frequently.

Are the stats for the imperial Raider the same as in 'Friends like these'? Thx

Looking at the mini lines, I'm a bit surprised that the K-wing didn't show up. I believe it is one of the few craft from X-wing and Armada that doesn't (and likely never will) have official RPG stats.

I believe the issue there is that it's from a Legends timeline contradicted by Canon.

yeah..Once DIsney Took over legends stuff stopped being being blatantly used...

They rewrote the E-wing into the current timeline. They could have done the same with the K-wing of they wanted to do so.

Many Bothans ceased to be called such on that dark day. Which is a shame because I really liked Legends Bothans.

It looks like S&S shipping to Australia is delayed and I won't get it in time for this weekend's game.

Does anyone feel like sharing the stats for the Bongo sub? :)
