Speaking of EaW...
Has anyone noticed that Admiral Ackbar and General Veer's abilities are named after their EaW abilities? Concentrate Fire for Ackbar and Maximum Firepower for Veers.

Haven't played the base game in a while as I've been fooling around with Thrawn's Revenge and Awakening of the Rebellion. I've so far only played the Rebellion in AotR (1 full campaign and one that I was about half way through when the mod updated and I lost it), but I rarely play the New Republic in Thrawn's Revenge (2 campaigns), preferring to play the various warlord factions (Pentastar Alignment twice, Greater Maldrood twice, Imperial Remnant twice). I'm actually playing as the New Republic now (Emperor's Mother how I hate their ground vehicles. Too slow* or too pathetically weak) because I wanted to see their era 4/5 ships (New-Class: Majestic, Nebula, Endurance, Viscount), and in my previous campaign I'd pretty much conquered everything by the time I got to that era (cuz the shtoopid Imp leaders never show their faces 😠). I've got to say, one of the main things I like about playing as the Imperial factions is their ground forces, particularly the Penstastar Alignment and the Greater Maldrood because of the high quantity of Clone Wars tech (Saber Tanks, yes please
)
*seriously. AT-ATs are faster.
This was probably far more information than anyone was looking for, but enjoy!
I never cared for the ground battles, just amassed a critical number of armies, to win in auto-battle.
But throwing ISDs on the flank of Ackbar... That's priceless.

Unlike you, I actually cared about the lives under my command, and personally commanded them to victory with minimum casualties, maximum effectiveness! (Seriously. In many engagements I didn't so much as lose a stormtrooper. And I mean real engagements, not just conquering a world with a single barracks)
I have always hated auto-resolve with a passion. I've used it a few times (generally when the game crashes right at the end of a 45 minute+ battle) and it has always cost me dearly.

Like shooting fish in a barrel!

I preferred Empire but I played Rebels from time to time. Those T-47s were pretty sweet.
I just wanted to pop in because no one has mentioned that there is art for every ship in the book, save a couple of TIE variants. A very nice looking book and further proof that the RPG team deserved better.

I was typically Empire also, but did play Rebels occasionally. I only tried the Consortium once. I think I didn't like it as much since most of it was EU or newly invented? It wasn't as cool as having an ISD drop in or a flight of X-wings.
Just a few days ago I thought about playing again through Steam. I found my CD....but I can't find the case with the codes!
ImpStar Deuce and Starhawk have Octuple Heavy Turbolasers. Linked 3, but only Slow Firing 1. Neat.
So has anyone actually received their copy yet?

And, a few ships that aren’t in either of these games but could be...
Picked up my copy today, this will be a great resource for the game, and will help me tie in all my X-Wing and Armada minis. Putting the ships out on the gaming table really adds to the encounters, even if they aren’t used for tactical movement.
Wonder why miniature market hasn’t got any in yet. Noticed ff is all sold out before release lol
Picked it up today from my flgs. They got 4 copies in
Still waiting for a shipped statement from from Amazon. Kinda got me worried I'm gonna get a "Sorry" message instead.

Got mine last night. When I left, there were about 5 left on the shelf. Along with a single Edge CRB and one Age sourcebook (didn't see which one). Across the board, their FFG RPG stock was either completely gone (Genesys) or really low (L5R).
Apparently it's not at the UK distributors yet, which is annoying- no ETA of when we'll get it at all.
Been told by a UK shop, 27 of March now.
Looking through, I notice that the fluff text for the LAAT/le mentions an aft laser cannon, but the stats don't.

I've come across a few issues like that with stats in other books. I usually just tweak the stats to match the description or picture.
If it helps at all, it is listed on Wookieepedia as possessing an aft laser cannon.

You can definitely see an aft laser canon in the Jedi lost episodes of the Clone Wars. I can’t remember if they are there in Rebels maybe the Imperial version dropped it as the Imperial doctrine is offense not defense.
*It’s still there in season 4 rebels.
I’m just going to semi home brew that laser cannon back in in my notes.app.
Edited by EoenI like that the Imperial Freighter version of the Gozanti only has two weapons (dorsal and ventral turrets) but still has six gunners. I guess they act like a road crew and somebody holds a clipboard while taking Assist maneuvers.

And they still miss....

One gunner to aim/fire, two to load the guns?

The guns are quad laser cannons, not unlike those on the Falcon, so that doesn't really make sense. Probably just something they forgot to change.
