as far as new books the only thing I can see them doing is making a race book or a book for the old republic(if they are even allowed to do so)

I would love to know what is in that book. so many rebel and imperial ships have no stats to them. A great opportunity to add them in, which they probably didn't take advantage of. I would also love to see an old republic book set but again i doubt it with people laid off from that department.

We don't actually know that. We do know know how many if any freelancers are working on things or not. And we will likely not know that for a while. But given the announcements for the X-wing and Legion likely means the license is alive and well. Which means the RPG stays with FFG for the moment. But we also know they said the line was slowing down. And given books take a year from freelance assignment to book on the shelf this change likely wont show any changes for probably 10 months. as any books already beyond manuscript will likely still come out. as you dont wast the money you already expended on a product. especially given where the Star Wars RPG is ranked in the top 5. I am looking to march to see if we get any announcements,

I just hope there are images with all of the listed ships. It is daunting searching google for images that could be some of these ships.

The line will continue with Freelancers. This is very common in the TTRPG industry. Very few companies have dedicated RPG employees.

Has anyone that preordered actually received a shipping notice yet?

More setting books probably. There's a lot to cover:

• Period between RotS and ANH
• Cold War Era (particularly "The Mandalorian")
• The New Trilogy/Resistance
• The High Republic Era (which we'll learn more about with the Star Wars Project Luminous on February 24)
• More Clone Wars stuff (since a new season is coming)

FFG has the license, sales numbers have been as good as can be expected, and they've moved to a freelancer model. So, probably two or three books a year as long as they have a license.

Catalyst Games has been following this model with Shadowrun for over a decade and they don't make nearly the money that FFG makes.

That company is not a model anyone should follow. They've released sub-standard products and have used freelancers' work without paying them.

Wizards has the same model. Not paying people has nothing to do with that.

First example that came to mind. My point is that I am hard pressed to name a gaming company that has a full time RPG writing staff as employees. Freelancers are the norm, not the exception.

Dawn of Rebellion covers between RotS and ANH.
More clone wars stuff could be cool. Maybe a region book like Suns of fortune covering Seperatist planets. and another covering republic loyal planets.

In a similar vein, I had wanted a companion to Strongholds of Resistance with details on Imperial worlds, bases, shipyards, and the like too. Maybe some detail on the military hierarchy and moffs. But, I've always been fascinated by the Empire.

So, believe. Aside from random internet doomsayers, there's no reason not to believe. The market is there, FFG said they'd keep publishing, and Asmodee said they'd keep publishing. All indicators say that they'll keep publishing.

This is assumptive at best. Unless you have source showing that they are using freelancers. The last Forge podcast had Sam Gregor-Stewart and Keith Kappel in it and they were talking like there are no freelancers working on any products. If they aren't involved then I dare say no one is.

if that's what they said then the line is soon to be reprints only (in some ways its good as no need to worry about rebuying books)

if true I need to think if there is any more books I NEED as there are 8 class books and 1 core I don't have yet and I don't have any of the extra books made for just one line

Honestly it was not really clear what they meant and frankly was a good use of "PR speak". I am thinking March we should hear something either way...

Im sure there will be more. But their options were limitted in what they could do. They couldnt do sequel stuff. They cant do old republic stuff. They already have done most of the rebellion era stuff. So i think the did the conpilation books as a stop gap.
