Why is this company so incompetant at stocking retailers?

Ok, not a "rumour" but I meant an official announcement and reveal with prototype minis to show, like FFG did at GenCon 2018 with the SSD, and GenCon 2019 with the Starhawk and Onager. I expect they're waiting for GenCon 2020 to reveal Clone Wars Armada -- even if it will be delayed from their planned release date Q4 2020.

I have to assume that we’ll learn more — and hopefully see actual models — at GenCon or Star Wars Celebration in August. Both are huge marketing opportunities and the community will rightly be expecting updates.

My mistake too.

Still, selling the cruiser for $20 over msrp is lame.

Don't buy board games on Amazon, especially Star Wars Armada, Legion, and X-Wing. Usually, the games aren't coming directly from Amazon; they are actually third-party vendors that are affiliated with the Amazon Marketplace, and presumably Amazon takes a hefty cut of whatever they sell for that privilege. That would explain why their prices are 20-50% higher.

A few weeks ago, when the Starhawk and Onager were released, my LGS was restocked with Imperial Light Cruiser expansions. There wasn't any listing for the ILC in the Upcoming section of the FFG website; they just suddenly appeared on store shelves one day. I immediately picked up a couple of Imperial Light Cruisers for $21.24 CAD.

What I don't understand is that the FFG Store sells them for $19.95 USD. Based on the conversion rate, the ILC expansion should cost $26.76 CAD. How can my LGS sell them for $5 less than the FFG website?

Regardless, I appreciate that my local game store's prices are so competitive, which is why I have multiples of most Armada ships.

We can “expect” all we want, but this is a company that has somehow managed to miss pretty much every single Christmas shopping season since the game came out. That’s probably cost them untold oodles of cash. Deadlines don’t mean much to them.

It is amazing, isn’t it? I got both the Onager and Starhawk for Christmas this year from family members; both were pretty disappointed that they essentially had to give me IOUs.

As stated: Their in-house production is Cards and Mats only, and potentially outsourced acrylics.

Plastic and Paint is 100% China, in the specific factories they invested money in upgrading for that very purpose.

Books are almost entirely China also. Genesys core was the only book to ever be printed in the US, and that was on a pretty limited basis. My guess is the move to US production of that book was because the backlog in the Chinese based production at the time was so deep that there was no way they'd meet deadlines and were forced to go with US printing...but that likely cost them on the profit margins.
