I don’t think the game needs that many more squadrons, but I am surprised we didn’t get U-wings already. And I wouldn’t say no to gunboats if they could do something truly unique.

Yeah, the lack of U-Wings, TIE Strikers, TIE Reapers, and whatever TIE variant it was that chased the Falcon during the Kessel Run in Solo bugs me. The Reaper and U-Wing could supply Raid tokens, or give us Relay, Strategic, or Intel, or some interesting combination of the above. Plus, I really want to see a Cassian Andor ace squadron.

I definitely want new Uniques for Imperial and Rebels Fighter Squadrons II expansions, however, another campaign expansion barely a year after Rebellion in the Rim was released is a stretch -- although FFG could announce it in 2020 and release it sometime in 2021. With the Covid-19 pandemic, that will be reality for virtually all products manufactured in China this year.
Rather than waiting for another campaign expansion, I'd prefer an "Armada Squadron Aces" expansion pack, similar to what FFG did with Hotshots & Aces for X-Wing 2E. A $20 box filled with cards and cardboard is all we need.
Another alternative is an "Armada Errata" pack. Similar to the Legion Upgrade Card pack, but containing reprints of all Errata-ed cards, and ideally Ship, Commander, and Upgrade cards points re-balancing . Then include the new Uniques for Fighter Squadrons II as the cherry on top so everyone will buy it. Or release separate Imperial and Rebels versions so we can buy both and get multiples of the reprinted cards.
