With a number of FFG's products going out of print, what is the remaining life for Arkham Horror? LOTR went for 8 years, and had a good run. Do you think that we are at the half-life (or less) of AH currently, or is there a feeling that FFG will run this out for many years to come?
Arkham Horror Lifespan
We have at least 4-5 more cycles that I think we can expect, since there is still 23 investigators in the Arkham Files Universe that have not officially been released (not counting promos) and each cycle releases 5-6 new investigators. And in-between THAT is all of the side stories and Arkham Nights event stories that I'm sure they'll make. Once all the investigators are released, then I think it'll be harder to say.
TL;DR: I'd expect a lot more Arkham Horror LCG, imo.
Unless FFG goes through more lay-offs, then all bets are off.

This is what's on my mind as well. Let's hope for the best.
Arkham is Also their own Ip, so They Are not gonna lose the lisense...
I think a good point to stop would be once all investigators has appeared which would take another 4-5 campaigns sets and about 3 years. By then there will be enough content to not really need more. Maybe they can come up with ah lcg 2nd ed after a break.

That's certainly one good stopping point. I hope they create a few new investigators in the meantime.
I think the better stopping point is when they run out of new ideas. So far, Matt has been churning them out and it's been great. But if they run out of stories or new mechanical ideas then I think they should consider ending the game and not before.
I just hope the Dream-Eaters cycle hasn't hurt the chances for a proper Masks of Nyarlathotep mega-campaign, maybe longer than 8 scenarios. They have to make up for the crappy Masks of Nyar. box set for Eldritch...what a missed opportunity that was.

I agree,
If they still have ideas for the game it would be a shame if it ended just because of a limited number of canon investigators...
I've seen or heard in various interviews with Matt Newman that when the Core Set was first released, they had a rough roadmap that covered approximately 10 cycles and the approximately 55 well-known Investigators from AH/EH games. So I would expect to see at least that many cycles.
Also, the fact that FFG is willing to produce a "joke" product like Barkham Horror is a good indicator that the game is still alive and well (Financially/fanbase).
I'm expecting, after all of the investigators have been released, to see old investigators rereleased with replacement cards (like the book promos). It would allow them to continue producing product with investigators and not feel boring because you already have them.
That said, them releasing a big box expansion which contains a full campaign but no player cards would be just fine by me.
I hate to rain on everybody’s parade, but the last time I started collecting a FFG game (Imperial Assault), they stopped production of physical product four months later. (I’m just that lucky!).
By my reckoning and past luck that announcement to can Arkham will be on 25th April. Sorry guys 🤣

Oh your so myopic. Learn to bypass your weakness....let someone who lives with you collect the game. If it’s not you collecting the game, your curse can’t take hold.
How were you ever going to deal with weakness cards in game if you can’t deal with then in real life? 😜
A different question would be when do we expect the Second Edition to come out…

Hard to say, but revised core could be possible, but there is not much need for it. There is not much wrong with original core, unlike. L5R core, Netrunner core... even Lotr core was fixed later.
I'd like to see a 2nd edition (3rd? if you count the CCG as 1st) of the Call of Cthulhu LCG after AH:TCG stops development. Alternating editions of these two games would be a good way to keep soaking addicts like me.
Would I be interested in a second edition for this game?.... I'm not sure. I actually don't have alot of complaints with the core system for this game and the taboo list is there for problematic cards. Lets not kid ourselves. There will always be problematic cards even in a 2.0 release. Also barrier of entry really isn't a thing since you can technically start at any cycle. We have seen difficulty per cycle go up and down as time went on so I don't think we have a linear difficulty creep as time goes on. So what would be the benefit of going to a second edition to this game? LOTR shows that a co-op LCG can survive well into old age. I expect this game to last at least as long as LOTR barring extreme circumstances.
I think I'd rather they take this system and adapt it into a different theme. As much as I love the Arkham Horror franchise FFG has lots of IP that could use some love. If they could find a way to adapt the AH:TCG system to Android or L5R then I'd be over the moon. I think I'd rather see something new and different from Arkham Horror. If AH is a theme that sells they should use that to launch more innovative designs.
Edited by phillosI hope you are all right and there's cycles aplenty still coming because I dig the product and it's a **** fine game.. I presume it's all about sales.. If it sells they'll make more. When that slows, the end will be in sight.. Right now it seems like a healthy product, so that's cool.

Yes. Precisely. Spread the word of our great Lord and savior Cthulhu and his band of terrible Acquaintances. Sell your friends (and enemies) on it because it really is fantastic.
