Ref card question.

By Warhawk1977, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Posted a few days ago how my boys and me are just starting and the ships we got at 1.0.

I could be wrong but from what I see 1.0 came out and with different waves of ships they added new rules in the form of the Ref cards right?

So my next question is where can I find a master list of the Ref cards so I know what I'm missing?

You mean from 1E? I think for the most part, they added that information into the FAQ document Found here.

If you mean for 2E, they dont really include reference cards anymore and just keep their rules reference updated with new abilities.

Presuming you're playing 1.0 and not 2.0:

I'm not sure this is complete, but the first edition Wikia has a lot of resources: Thanks @Wazat and crew!

Anyhow, the reference cards probably aren't actually the best source for the rules. They were correct when printed, but there are potentially updates to the rules which happened later. Instead, I'd direct you towards these; the latest FAQ and Rules Reference for 1e. If there is a conflict between the FAQ and the Rules Reference, go with the FAQ interpretation.

Thanks and yes I'm talking 1.0

I will download the updates and one thing is I'm looking for completeness with all the cards.

There ya go then. The 441 FAQ is as complete as you'll get with 1E.

One of my biggest gripes about First Edition X-wing was that there was not an official source for supplemental rules online.

The wiki is the most complete place to find references online.

The swx36 Rules Reference only contains rules from supplemental cards released before the Force Awakens Core Set and was not updated so it does not have everything. Off the top of my head the Tractor token and Jam action/token references are missing.

The FAQ v441 has some of those things that are missing, but only if they have an Errata or FAQ entry. For example, Tractor tokens were errata'd so the card is in the FAQ, but the Jam action/token was never changed so that card is not.

Also, @Warhawk1977 don't hesitate to post additional questions regarding first edition! I know most current players have moved to (or started in) second, but I also know some of us vets like to revisit the old content now and then and there are still hold-outs sticking to 1e.

Just make sure you put a [1e] or [1.0] tag in your thread title to make it clear for people who just skim topic titles :)

Also, 2e is way better ;)

I will keep that in mind and I will ask questions as we run into them.

I know in my area there's a group and a few strays who prefer 1e :)

Thanks again everyone I have downloaded and printed the files.

I know in the long run my kids and I will upgrade to 2.0 but as of now going to use what we have. Do have imperial and scum upgrade kits so need to get rebel and a few large ship boxes.

Also remember that, unless you buy a damage deck and maneuver templates separately, you'll need a 2E core set as well (when that time comes). Even if you do get them all separately, the imp upgrade kit (as well as the rebel) doesnt include the pilots from the Core set.

Just something to keep in mind :)

Thanks I will keep that in mind.
