Just something that came to mind, if I am in an epic game, and the ship carrying Magva is shot by a range 4 or 5 weapon, can she still lock? I would say yes, since it isn’t creating an action, but simply delivering the lock.
On a side note, I assume she can function on a ship with no native lock action.

No. All the Lock action does, is allow you to Acquire a lock. You still have to go though all of the steps TO acquire a lock, which includes the restricted range of 0-3.
The ability *must* state that it ignores range restrictions, or has an overriding range to locking in order to go beyond 0-3.

Yes she can. The lock action merely gives a ship the ability to acquire a lock. Other ability's (like Magva) also can give ability's to acquire a lock. The ship in question doesn't care what ability is granting it the lock acquisition, but an ability does have to do it.
Edited by Lyianx@Lyianx is correct, Though a huge ship with Magva and Boosted Scanners gets around this if the player is willing to spend the energy for Boosted Scanners to increase the range to what is needed to acquire the lock.
Magva on a CR-90 can get Range 4 locks, due to the ship ability, though.
