The gauntlet ending spell question

By Robocopo, in Talisman Rules Questions

Hi!

Just a quick question.

Spells cant be used on enemies in the middle region as we know. But if you play with " the gauntlet" alternative ending that use the nether deck on each space of the inner region. Can you then use the spell called "ressurection" when an opponent have won a battle and istead make it a stand-off as the card describe.

Tho the card is called "ressurection" it dosnt states that it revives the enemy defeated, it just says that it change the outcome of the fight into a stand-off.

Thx for any thoughts here.

I guess not. Creatures in the Inner Region cannot be targets of Spells. And though this card doesnt specifically targets an Enemy, the Enemy not killed is the target of this Spell.

Well.. I'd say you can. Rule questions in my experience is usually solved best by reading the rules exactly as they are written and in this case the limitation is that creatures (= cards of the type 'enemy' and stuff on the board that attacks you, see base game rules) can't be targeted by spells.

But the spell doesn't target the enemy.

" Title : Resurrection

C ast after a character kills an Enemy during an attack .

The attack is considered a stand-off and the Enemy remains on the space ."

Therefore yes, it's allowed.

Agree with Nioreh...
