Bossk and Boba Fett - Any Good for Play?

By Trevistheturtle, in Star Wars: Legion

Picked up these two before I heavily invested in the game to paint and look nice. Now, as I near my first few games of Legion, I was wondering if they are decent and how the best way to run either or both of them would be (if possible). I believe that Boba appears to be a great piece, but i'm not sure about Bossk and how he works within the current state of the game.

They are both great. Playing them together can be a bit difficult since you can only take so many command cards and all of there's only give orders to themselves, leaving you drawing from the bag for everything else.

Bossk is definitely more commonly used in the meta in a Krennic Shoreline list flcusing on supporession, but both are strong options especially as they give you the option of an additonal score with Bounty. Bossk has more range and suppression potential but I would say Boba is better against hero's and on his day (when you role well) he can be very hard to kill. The problem with running both is you need a generic commander (other options expensive) who offers little and relying just on their command cards gives you almost no control over unit activation as they are all Character only. They are fun together though in a casual game and as you say are some of the most fun Imperial models to paint (yay colour).

Not so much anymore, but Veers/Krennic double bounty used to be pretty popular, so you definitely don't need to take a generic officer to field both of them.

You can fit Krennic, Boba, Bossk, Deathtroopers, 2 Shores, 2 Mortars and another unit (DLT storms or more shores maybe) in one list. Give DTs and mortars comms relays. This will allow you to issue orders to both shores (and give them free aims) and another unit even when you're using operative command cards. You'll get decent activation control too. Whether this will be able to take on a full fledged shore gunline or a Leia Tauntaun list I couldn't say but it sure does sound fun and it will generate tons of suppression.

I wouldn't take both any more since the meta has changed, but one or the other does well enough. I personally love to play boba because he is a lot of fun, so I have gotten pretty good at running him around. He has brought me a lot of success including 3-0 at Gencon and 2 rpq/prime wins (4-0 and a 3-0). My list is posted on my blog . They both have good cards that can do some serious damage to their targets. I guess I like boba quite a bit because he does a great job ignoring rules. He moves speed 3, he has jump 2, pierce 1 and sharpshooter 2. I totally recommend playing him.

I'm a new player, so take what I say with a pinch of salt, but I used Boba recently and he's awesome! I love his manoeuvability and the flexibility he gets from his command cards. If I was a better player he could have won me a game with recover the supplies (I messed up deployment and box recovery order). In that game he tanked an entire droid army's fire power for a round and only suffered 2 wounds! The dice were red hot, though. I haven't got the best out of his command cards yet. This is largely because of poor positioning and learning to setup the play the turn before on my part. I did immobilise Vader for a turn when he was about to totally Vaderise a squad. That was fun :)

I've been on the receiving end of Bossk and will happily pick him up myself at some point. He got used as a wicked sniper against me. Climbed up a nice tall tower with a great view of the battlefield. Then used a command card that got I'm an aim for every unit that activated (?). Gave him a really accurate shot that eliminated exactly what my opponent wanted dead.
