Hello all. My 14-year old son and I will be going on a trip soon with a couple of his classmates for an academic competition. I anticipate having some down time each evening and would like to try to get a few games in, introducing his friends to the game in the process. I think I’ll be able to tuck a dozen or so ships into my carry-on and then maybe improvise a playing surface at the hotel. I’m asking for some suggestions for what I should take.
I have been buying into X-Wing for a while with the intention of playing, but life intervened and I have only ever played a few games, only one of which was Second Edition with my son. We played a threat 8 quick build with him flying Luke and Wedge, while I had Vader and two Academies. So something like that is what I’m looking for - a 2-3 ship QB list at threat 8 +/-, any faction other than Scum, and small base only. The lists should be somewhat balanced and easy to fly for a beginner. And at least one Republic list should include Ahsoka.
I have at least one of everything in 1e and 2e with the exception of the latest wave, but should have them by the time we leave on our trip.
