Best 54pt Kaz builds

I would really like to here any potential Kaz builds as I want to run Kaz at UK SOS in the extended event 54pt limit to fit in my squad?
Other questions? What are common rule interactions that people are getting wrong or don't realise are ok?
One for me was Kaz's ability - when I first read it I thought it was not usable against secondary weapons but when you read it again it's fine!
Also the combos of coax etc?
What is the best ship trait card to take with Kaz's title? I hear direct hit, damaged engine, etc
What are the best shenanigans you can pull?
Can you use afterburners also?

Kaz is good but expensive, if your willing to try a different pilot then bucket is a good choice

The idea of this is to take the disabled power regulator damage card, then you try to block a ship or get within range 1 so that when you take an ion token from the damaged card you can pass it off to your opponents ship, then you can keep doing this every round until your ship dies or performs an ion maneuver, this could be amazing against aces, imagine Vader suddenly being consistently ionised, you dont even need shoot him, just slowly walk him off the board

If going expensive on a Fireball, I had this one flown against me the other day:

  • Jarek Yaeger (Fireball, R1-J5, Advanced SLAM, Static Discharge Vanes, Coaxium Hyperfuel) 52.
    • Heroic could easily be added.
    • Coaxium went pretty much unused, but maybe could just be Contraband Cybernetics and be as useful.
    • Anyhow, the key is that the Fireball crit was Disabled Power Relay, to allow Jarek SLAM in, expose the card, ionize himself, and pass off the Ion token to someone else. Majorly annoying. In both my game and another one I saw this played in, Jarek mostly got ignored, then there was a "**** this, I'm just killing him" moment.

I think 50 points is all you need for the best possible Kaz, and much of it could be trimmed if needed: Heroic, R4, ContraCybers, AdSLAM, Title

I don't think Leia works for before-maneuver stuff actually.

Leia: After a friendly ship reveals its dial, you may spend 1 [Force]. If you do, the chosen ship reduces the difficulty of that maneuver

BB-8: Before you execute a blue maneuver, you may spend 1 [Charge] to perform a [Barrel Roll] or [Boost] action.

It's different timing. you reveal, spend the force and reduce difficulty. BB8 then checks the difficulty of the maneuver (not the revealed dial colour, like lets say Cova) and allows you to BB8 off the white 3 hard for example, which is now blue with Leia. Then, if your not stressed, you can use Poe's ability to link to another action, then clear the stress with the blue move and take yet another action.

So with afterbuners...this is janky and I love it.... dial 3 hard. change 3 hard to blue with leia. then BB8 a barrel roll. use Poe ability to Focus. do 3 hard. afterburners off the 3 hard, then take a target lock with regular action. stress free too. Then you look at Poe!

I got a theory on even jankier Poe... I'll be back.

I can't believe this fits. Now Poe can also slam off a coordinated action and then clear the weapons disabled with Nodin.

I don't think Leia works for BB-8. That's from the FAQ. It says only during and for effects that trigger after . Not before. Maybe I'm wrong but seems pretty clear to me.

looks like your right. but it also still seems up for debate due to the wording.

But you cannot Slam from a coordinate, also am I missing something, that Nodin only clears your weapons disabled token when he engages, so by that time Poe has already missed his chance to shoot.
