Corsairs of Ghrond

By Daemon Wormwind, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Hi

First I want to appologize for my bad English.

Yesterday my opponent played Dark Elves, I played Empire.

I killed corsairs of ghrond on his battlefield. Forced: -2 HP until the end of the turn.

My opponent decided to put the -2 penalty on a card in my kingdom: Reiksguard swordsmen with 2 HP. (2-2 = 0) ;-p

My question: is Reiksguard swordsmen now discarded or has he for the rest of the turn 0 HP?

tx

D

They are dead, since they now have damage = to their HP (0 = 0 in this case).

Seeing as how you played Empire, n00b mistake, should've first used Forced March to move the Corsairs out of the BZ, then kill them gran_risa.gif .

tx, but if they are removed they still can use their ability? Why do I have to remove them then?

#29 Corsairs of Ghrond (Dark Elf Unit) 3-D

1/3. Warrior.

Battlefield . Forced: When this unit leaves play, one target unit gets -2 hit points until the end of the turn.

As you can see from the text, their ability only works when they are in the BZ, if they are in the KZ or QZ, you can kill them and their ability won't kick in.

I thought that Battlefield meant in which zone you must play your card from your hand. I didn't know that if your card was in another zone that the FORCED-thing on that card was cancelled.

So if Vile Sorceress leaves the questzone, she can't do any harm anymore for the same reason I suppose.

There's a relation between Battlefield/Kingdom/Quest and Forced which I didn't find back in the rules.

And if Harpies leaves the questzone, can it still play it's action?

Is there also a relation between Battlefield/Kingdom/Quest and actions you can play from the card?

I know, it's lousy English...

Page 16 in the rules is where you want to direct your gaze to (or just check the quotes below gui%C3%B1o.gif ) :

"Kingdom/Quest/Battlefield
Only

Some cards have keyword restrictions that dictate the
zone into which the card can be played (or put into
play). When these cards enter play, they can only do
so in one of the specified zones. Note that this keyword
only restricts the card when it enters play, it can
then be moved (through card effects) to another zone."

So cards with any of those three limitations can only be played into the mentioned zone, like Crook Teef Goblins are "Battlefield only", so BZ only when they are played, though they can then be moved to any zone and they will still be in play, count their P, etc.

Then you have the others, when the word is in italics:

"Zone Specific Effects

Some card effects are preceded by an italicized zone
name. (Kingdom, Quest, or Battlefield.) Such effects
are only active when the card is located in the specified
zone."

So Corsairs have Battlefield , meaning their Forced only works if they leave play from that zone. Harpies can only use their Action: while in the QZ. Same for Vile Sorceress.

Thank you man, this makes the game even beter imo.
