But do they get around to reloading 2nd ed? They melt relatively fast, and I feel they pay an uneccessary fee for a reload you seldom use . They already have a great 3 dice attack with Dead to rights. Putting ordnance on top of that without a reliable chance for double mods (apart from R5P8 for further 4pts, and 1/8 chance to get nasty crits) costs a lot.

They really don't pay extra for the often-unused reload action . These things are a point cheaper than a Blade B-Wing with an extra total health, plus a ship ability which is meaningful. If they didn't have the action at all, 41 points would still be the right price for them.

As to reloads... Kimos will be too expensive with long-range Torpedoes (and they also can't get locks too easily) and most missiles don't add anything meaningful. Where it might work out would be either Proton Rockets or Advanced Proton Torpedoes, the single-charge weapons. Both are kind of interesting. 5-dice with a single mod can often get really sad, but having that Dead To Rights potential on top of that seems nasty.

However, Kimos don't really disengage great, so finding a time to use a disarming action probably isn't going to happen.

I hard agree. It's still something they don't use, but yeah, at 41 points, they aren't paying for it anymore. Prockets seem the best choice for massed Kimos if they are taking a munition at all, as it jives well with their ability and one of the big hampers on Prockets is the single use.
