Gel Marcolf as a PC

We're playing Chronicles of the Gatekeeper, and my players turned the tables on me pretty well. They've picked up Gel Marcolf, the villain of Act I, as a tentative ally. I didn't expect it, but they had him captured and made a lot of sense in their arguments. I fully plan to have him turn on them at some point (and so do they), but for the time being, I'm considering recruiting a friend to play him as a PC.

What Career and Specializations would you give this guy? He's definitely a Presence kind of character. My group is currently down to 2 players, a Sentinel:Shadow and a Guardian:Protector/Niman Disciple.

He's got Enhanced Leader and Parry and is good with a cortosis sword. So Peacekeeper/Makashi Duelist with a custom sword that counts as a Lightsaber weapon, to qualify for Makashi Technique.

Aye, he strikes me as a natural leader having worked his way up the totem pole. I do agree with Stan on the class choices.


What I will say about him is a pretty obvious spoiler, so people who haven’t been through that adventure should look away.

it also depends whether he stays the villain. The source of his conflict after all was his abandonment issues, he thought warde was gonna return to him but never did. Maybe finding out about what happened to his mentor would allow him to finally see the light. Ironically the guy who abandoned him might be the one most needing his help.
