I was planning to use the Jedi Padawan (Rise of the Separatists p. 27) as starting career/spec for my character and then branch-off to other Force Sensitive specs and I’m curious to see if someone have done this in the past and how it worked for them.
Jedi Padawan as starter
I am doing this right now and we have played three sessions so far. I went first to the +1 FR and now I plan to get a force power or two. Then maybe Armorer or Nimian disciple since my willpower is a 4.
Cool, I’m planning to get FR as my top priority. I think it’s a solid tree to start off with nice talents like quick draw, learning opportunity, well rounded and sense danger among others.
I still haven’t decided were to branch off but Makashi and Investigator caught my eyes.
Edit: Fixed specs.
Edited by NhekoThis just popped up on the reddit. If its you I apologize.
No, I wasn’t me.
Because of that thread I am looking at Force Sensitive Outcast as well, but not sure it makes since story wise for my character.
Ummm that’s always a tough one. But I think story should trump mechanics, and going with your character concept is important.
I do Padawan lightsaber form then knight then branch out. eventually i will get Jedi Master.
That’s a neat idea? Where are you at the moment? Padawan? Form? Knight?
I am building knight and Ataru Striker currently
👍 Sounds really neat! Ataru is a beast.
I wish I had discovered these specs earlier.

I'm a starting Padawan a few sessions in to a knight level xp campaign. Maxing out my lightsaber skill with a brawn of three I decided to to take the control upgrade in enhance to raise my brawn by 1. Got up to the first force upgrade in talents so I can use my other force point toward the sense control upgrade raising my defense. It's kind of a force enhanced way to fight like yoda, and I can always move to a lightsaber style after I get knight.
I recently started in a new, very high XP campaign (an extra 900 xp earned at start). Due to that incredible amount of XP, I decided to see if I could make a "Healer-Knight" concept work. Many of the other players were making combat-monsters/sort-of-combat-monsters, so the utility of a healer had a certain appeal as something both useful and different.
The career was Jedi, the first specialization was Padawan, then came Healer (Consular), Doctor (Colonist), and Knight. Because the campaign is set during the Clone Wars, I wanted to be capable of both Force-assisted and regular healing, hence the Doctor tree. Add a liberal helping of Force powers (mostly focused on the Heal power tree plus a good chunck of Enhance), 3+ ranks in Medicine, Xenology, and Lore, 2 in Discipline and Mechanics, and a scattering of other skills. I'm quite happy with the result.
Future tree plans for this character include Master, Niman (Consular), and maybe General. If we're still going strong at that point, I might look at Shien (Sentinel) and possibly some other trees.

Spelling.
With the advice from here and Reddit, I'm building a Padawan/Knight/Ataru Striker. It's bloody fun so far, and really potent; the extra ranks in Toughened/Grit really shore up the Striker's 'glass cannon' weakness.
Planning to take FS Emergent->Armorer->Warden->Master in the long run.

I'm glad you're happy with your character (I'm the GM)
Not my favorite style of art but that's pretty good
