He's going to be an Operative. I mean, would it make any sense at all for him to be a Commander?

I agree, every bounty hunter so far has been an Operative. I think it's fairly safe to say Cad Bane will be an operative (as will Padme).

To be fair, much the same can be said about Palpatine (almost never leading troops, was a politician for the entire war). Padme did at least lead Naboo ground forces against the Trade Federation.

Which I will fully admit was before the Clone Wars actually started, but some people have been using the same trade dispute to justify their belief Darth Maul belongs in the CIS faction so... (at least here Padme was still part of the Republic during the actual Clone Wars).

To be fair, the same game that supplied Legion with the upcoming Iden Versio also puts Darth Maul in the Separatist faction. If he's got to go somewhere with limited factions available, he always goes to the CIS army

Padme is kind of a 50/50. In say, TPM she's clearly a commander directly leading units and seizing objectives and directing policy and stuff. Once in the actual Clone Wars era though she resembles more of an Operative, often running solo (or with anakin) and frequently engaging in her own little operations and plans, solving crimes, stuff like that. Solid bet she might end up with Secret Mission regardless. Her being an operative might resemble R2 a bit too much though, she'd have to be very supportive as while she can take care of herself, Padme is not exactly a well oiled killing machine like say, a Boba Fett or Sabine Wren.

Just makes me wish the Fleets MPL had cycle. Give us a cheap upgrade that add cycle FFG!

A fair point, but she isn’t a Sith Lord either :)

Maybe she’d be similar to R2/C-3PO, providing a possible victory point, with support abilities, but being mostly useless in combat.

Padme probably ices more mofos on screen than her daughter does, "useless" is a strong word.

Been running a B2 unit with Dooku/Grevious. It’s been a ton of fun.

If we’re talking droids from CW, it’s not like they ever dodge or even take cover; Leia has a much better shot of that AT-ST driver in RotJ.

I would still expect Padmé to be similar to Leia or Veers. Maybe she gains that keyword for being an operative instead because in CW she starts going off on her own missions?

Padme rather expertly killed a bunch of smugglers in a standoff on Mandalore, but that's all from the Clone Wars cartoon. Really, whenever she had to handle a blaster, she was quite talented.

How durable are they really with those 2 wounds, but surge-less (ish with Tactics) dice and Armor 1?

Resistant to chip damage and snipers, but that’s about it. They can get depleted pretty quick.

I am in the camp that Maul and Jango should not be in CIS. Both should be part of the Scum faction whenever that comes out (Maul should be the first leader as well with what he does in Clone Wars, Solo, and Rebels). Cad Bane is just a cool copy of Jango Fett. Hopefully by next week we know for sure one way or another.

If I don't get Maul in CIS I will literally go berserk. I will whine until my complaints blot out the sun.

I would like to think that the endgame for Legion is to be a copy of X-wing, in all the good ways. Seven main factions with FFG taking their time to place each one in the right place so we don't end up with entire units getting pulled from a faction a few years later. OF course Scum has a lot of commander options with Jabba, Mother Talzan, and The Mandalorian. CIS only got Ventress and Papa Palp left so they may try to throw in Maul and Savage to bulk them up.

If they make Krell, I'll be livid lol

If I ever see that scum on the battlefield, I'll risk it all just to kill him.

We will get Maul

No, but she was a Queen, which outranks a Lord anyway :-P.

Padme exhibits as much combat capability as Leia, against both droid and organic opponents.

Sadly, I doubt we'll ever get something giving cycle to stuff like the MPL trooper or HH12 trooper. Theyre basically rocket launchers so it takes time for the trooper to replace the used rocket with a new one hence the recover action. The B2 weapon with cycle and the AAT munitions are all weapons that seem to need to "cool down" instead of actually be reloaded which is why they can't use it for just one round. Maybe an upgrade giving ION weapons cycle would make sense though because those also just have a "cool down" IMO

I'd agree with your conclusion but not with your reasoning. I think cycle applies to larger units with magazine fed weapons. Cycle is just the loading system taking time to move the next round from the magazines to the launcher. A system like that isn't practical for trooper portable weapons.

It would make them useable though.

Very true...and for this reason FFG will most likely give them a way to give them cycle even if it doesnt make sense. There's nothing worse for this game than useless units/upgrades and a the majority of exhaustible weapons are very useless at the moment

Potentially, but I think part of the reason Ion weapons require a refresh is to "balance" the removal of an action from the target unit (assuming damage is inflicted of course). Anything is possible though, so I won't say "never."

I would argue Republic, with a play style that rewards you for making Clones take damage. Maybe also a new ability that allows him to use Dark Side Force upgrades and not Light Side ones.

Or CIS but your opponent has to field him, and it's all things that hurt your units or make them test to not shoot allies near opposing forces.

Which is inexplicable right? Where did Queen and later Senator Padme get her skills? Leia at least is justified in having led an armed rebellion.
