B2 Article is Up
More I see, more I wonder if I picked the wrong faction. Droids look so fun.
Maybe I’ll feel better when we get more republic heroes....
2R1W is nice on a Impact 2 Blast weapon

Oh the hype is real.
Doing some math, the B2-HA is a bit less effective than the B1 E-60R, but Cycle helps saving actions and comes in a way sturdier frame, so I might use it here and there (also, Blast is, well, a blast!)
B2-ACM is lovely, though.

Does Integrate Comms Antenna do anything other than increase the command bubble for them to Range 4? Seems lame

It would be better if Commanding Presence was still 10 points. As it is now though, it's more about if you want to save the Command slot.

Well that is an anti-tank weapon that isn't completly useless vs ifantry and cycle is a wonderful keyword.
These guys looks cool
It feels like this unit is set up to play at 500 points or they are setting up for response to the tank meta with both blast and impact giving them options. Of course this is the same people who brought us the airspeeder and the *checks notes* HH-12?
Unit looks fun, but it is funny how B1s are better. Can still me running 1 on a list especially if the AAT allows a few points in a list..................... Really wish CIS had a cheap commander

Even with Armor 1, I'm curious how durable they'll be; will they even get into Range 2 before being shot to pieces?
Keep them in Heavy Cover, though, and that's 3 canceled hits. So that's pretty good.
Edited by manoftomorrow010Is it wrong that what really made me want to field B2's was watching the Mandalorian?

With how powerful everything but the B1s are it seems to me that the expensive commanders exist to keep your army in check.

Emphasize dodge over aim to cancel 4 hits that way.

I mean, it is pretty much the most threatening they've ever looked haha
is no one else upset they don't have wrist rockets?

Good LoS blockers will help the immensely
And finally we got a good unit for Rapid Reinforcements

I mean, we'll see when the Specialist box is eventually spoiled. Also when they get more commanders. FFG decided (probably rightly) to release the two big name commanders before going into the cartoon stuff. Rex makes sense for the Republic since he's another Clone Trooper, a unit type that army really cares about.

Immensely so

F
That blast weapon seems very strong. I like the sound of that as an anvil to my dooku hammer.
With Esteemed Leader can I send a hit to this guy and cancel it with Armor?

FFG has to leave something for the potential "Upgrade" pack.
You guys are more optimistic than i am, because frankly a full squad with the most expensive heavy costs 96 points for 10 wounds with white saves and no surges. Most people thing wookies suck bad and these things seem much worst.

They will struggle, but you will probably always have 1 surge token for defence with agressive tactics. Like any close range group they need cover and los blocking terrain to work. I think I rather have 2 wounds with armor and potential surge tokens thanks to the coordinate + aggressive tactics than wookies 3hp and no surge defence.

Guardian tells the unit to roll a defence die or suffer wounds so I think armor won't help. Would have been nice though.
They could potentially work well in pairs. Its a huge point sink to be sure but, especially with an AAT providing covering fire, when the lines close they'll be devastating. Its also possible that range 2 will be much more valuable with some of the new deployment cards that are coming out in vital assets. Have them moving up the field behind a tank for that heavy cover or something. I think they have play, it'll just take time to find a home (plus a generic droid commander probably).
