Ship Names?

By LeighPouse, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So I've just started a new campaign with a group of friends and we've gotten to the point where they've gotten a ship and they went and named it the " Amaranth Fandango ".

So I was wondering what other groups of players have named their ships as they tend to be either ridiculous or awesome, sometime both. So what ships have you or your players set sail in?

My signature character owns a modified YZ-900, named the Jedi Star . It's been converted into a mobile Jedi training center. He's a Jedi. Go figure. 😎

Back in the 90's when we were playing WEG, my players named their freighter the "Century Eagle" and I shamed them endlessly.

In our Saga Edition game in 2011, I had a more creative group and their ship was the "The Pauper's Bounty."

My current group named there’s The Lusty Jawa. It even has nose art (though it’s also the name of an XWing Miniatures resistance bomber)

In my last two games we had a GX1 "Fortune's Favor" and GHTROC 720 "Idiot's Array" aka The Space Turtle.

In an old WEG campaign, I had the Iron Angel .

In one of the campaigns I run, my players have named their current ship the Calamity Marauder .

In a new campaign I’m in, I’ve got a YT-2000 called the Drunken Innuendo .

The group I introduced to the game named their YT-1300 It's a trap! More often than not it is indeed a trap. Usually for them :D

Last night my players renamed the stolen Krayt Fang into the Black Diamond (along with a paint job and some slicing to change the ship's registry).

The first FFG game I ran, the players named their Wayfarer The Beast of Burden.

My players started with the AoR Beginner Game and renamed Whisper Base to Cannok base. They then traveled to Dxun and fell in love with the Cannoks so much that they later purchased a ship and named it The Cannoks Maw .

Current group has 2 ships

- an "ugly" Tie bomber/Y-Wing scap mix named Holy Diver (... had to give her a D-0 style droid named D-10)

- a luxury space yacht named The Smooth Criminal

... I tend to run my campaigns as "actual consequences that they have to take seriously otherwise they might die, though the situations are absurd" due to my writing background, like escorting a gungan. As such, it's a personal goal to force them into as many ill-named ships as possible if they ever end up on an NPC's craft. Example being 4 original Maia class star fighters, the Maia-Hee, Maia-Hu, Maia-Hoe, and the Maia-Haha.

My players got their hands on a run down C-ROC (using the fan-made ship quirks) which they "acquired" from a quite extreme Rebel Cell.

As they started to update and repair the thing - including a new Transponder Code - they settled on The Revenant

Cheeky rascals!

My players have a VCX 100; and whenever they get a false ID for it, they come up with a new name for the auxiliary fighter/shuttle to go with it.

One of their false IDs was "Reckless Endeavor", which I took from a thread just like this one. Their corresponding name for the shuttle was "Poor Life Decision".

My group have a GX1, she's named Helia, after one of the PC's dead wife.

My original group bought an E-9 Explorer, not just because it was practical but because they found the shape hilarious. It was all I could do to talk them out of calling it the Space D*** . They finally accepted the Money Shot as an adequate substitute.

Also, a player who joined us later is an outlaw tech/slicer. His ship is the Crash Override .

C-ROC Cruiser - Jaten’s Mule

YT 2400 - Song and Dance

My players have a custom ship they built. They are currently undercover pretending they a medical supply merchants. They named the ship "The Bacta Front"

🙄

Some of the names that have stood out from the years and years of playing Star Wars RPGs (in no particular order)...

Fallen Angel (Ghtroc 720, WotC OCR/RCR campaign set during Rise of the Empire era)

Muddy Sanchez (YT-1300, RCR campaign, group in general had a very juvenile and unsubtle sense of humor)

Last Call (YT-1300, d6 campaign, pilot was quite the lush)

The Spry Bucket (GX1 short hauler [homebrew stats], F&D Beta campaign)

Errant Fool (Starlight-class light freighter, d6 campaign)

Sable Rake (YT-1300, RCR series of con modules)

Fughedhaboutit (L-19 heavy freighter, d6 campaign, player was very much a Jersey city boy with the stereotypical accent)

Fool's Mercy (XS-800, d6 campaign)

Salty Gundark (YT-1300, Saga Edition campaign)

Knave's Honor (Kazellis-class freighter, Saga Edition campaign)

And I'm sure there's dozens more whose names escape me, which isn't surprising given the sheer number of years and campaigns that I've either played in or run.

Here's more of the same in case we miss some in this posting.

MTFBWY

YT-2400- Impulse

Lamda Shuttle- Visionary Chimera (piloted by a Miraluka).

Custom built YZ-900 called the Valkyrie Corsair.

Currently doing a 'Freed' Clone with a prototype troop transport (one of the many U-Wing concept art) named Sleipnir

That's so awful that I kinda want to applaud.
