Spoiled Vital Assets Cards

The big question now is will this pack be out before worlds and if so how will it shake up the scene. Will we see crazy high bids again to be blue player just to take some of the cards out of the deck?

I am somewhat concerned that this might happen, so I am really, really hoping the upcoming RRG update changes initiative to be based on activation count, with blue going to whichever player has fewer. I'm not holding my breath, though.

For bombing run, big thing that people might over look is that it says end of activation phase you can blow up 1. just one. So holding all your objectives for later rounds can actually hurt you.

The article did say 1st quarter, so we have until end of march to have that be true. With the recent tank stream saying the tanks and such will be "hopefully" out by end of March, I'd say this box probably falls into that hope as well, although, we can never guess with much accuracy about their release dates, now.

However, with the Adepticon dates, they would have to come out by first week of March to be tournament legal, right?

I'm hoping FFG OP will tell the community if Vital Assets will be legal for Worlds if it's out, or that it won't be legal even it's out. Seeing how far behind they are with their current backlog, I doubt very much Vital Assets will be out in time.

Not sure about your math there, by my calcs the airspeeder performing 3 x speed 3 moves you get a front to front distance of about 810mm or approx. 2 feet 8 inches, not 4 feet.

That said, the airspeeder is fast enough to get into Range 1 of the opponents deployment zone on deployment battle plan cards (except long march) to be able to perform 2 moves, drop the marker then the 3rd move to get out of range of the blast, not sure that’s enough to make the Airspeeder viable but it’s a start..

Gah, you’re right, I was thinking about their threat range (Ie range 3 attack + two moves)

my goodness youre right that really shakes up the strategy for this objective then forcing you to get to the other side by round 4 if you hope to detonate all your tokens. Good catch

Which is why it focuses on vehicles, i think. They can speed across the board so much faster (T-47, Speeder, and Bikes at least), that you can detonate on turn 2, maybe

Well, you can likely do it with most figures by round two. Remember it only needs to be at Range 1 of the opponent's deployment zone. Granted, the Speeders are more efficient thanks to the compulsory move allowing them to cover more ground and be able to get out of the blast radius.

T-47 is immune to range 1 weapons, so it doesn't have to move away before detonating.

Yes. It's the only one that I think can pretty much guarantee a turn one detonation without worrying about getting damaged by the detonation. I don't think a naked BARC can get close enough to place the token within range one and then still get out of the blast radius but I'd need to try it out.

I don't either lol you would have to deploy BARCs or 74-Zs as isolated as possible and only try to run them in to detonate, not damage, unless you catch your opponent in a major mistake. They can't take much fire so the risk of trying to hit enemy units with your bombing run might be too risky.

the beauty of having CAD software at work means I can measure that sort of thing really easily :D

unfortunately the BARC wont quite get there on most deployment maps to be able to move twice, drop the token then move away, even with a dead straight run, only on Major Offensive are the deployment zones close enough to get there.
