Quick question on Force Move

By oshjoshbahotdog, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So I was wondering what peoples thoughts on this was. One of the force move control upgrade says make a Discipline check with your Move Power check to hurl an object and do damage equal to 10 times the silouette of the target object. I'm just wondering if you get extra successes if you count them as extra damage like how you would for any other combat check? I'm leaning towards yes because it could be treated as if your throwing an improvised weapon. But lemme know what you guys think

The power says it's a ranged attack. Attacks do extra damage for successes rolled. Very simple.

In the description for that control upgrade, it's noted the Discipline check counts as a ranged attack, meaning it follows all the same rules as if making an attack using a blaster.

So yes, you do get to add successes from the check result to the damage (thus making silhouette 0 objects potentially dangerous for a PC with a really strong Discipline dice pool), but that also means that any defensive traits the target has that would affect the difficulty of a ranged attack apply.

For instance, if you wanted to hurl a silhouette 2 object at a bounty hunter that has Adversary 1 and Ranged Defense 1, the difficulty of the Discipline check would be 1 red, 1 purple, and 1 setback instead of just the 2 purple as determined by the hurled object's silhouette.

Ok sounds good thanks alot!
