Anyone have updates from Vegas?

The craps table at the Venetian is really hot right now.

Who got into top 2?

I got first finishing the day with 38 points after 4 rounds. I got 10-1 vs ISD Lmsu, 10-1 vs ISD/Raider/Squads, 8-3 vs Rieekan aces, and 10-1 vs another ISD/Raider/Squads.

Sunday morning is the cut and I will be facing someone flying essentially @GiledPallaeon ’s NOVA list but with JJ instead of Thrawn.

Not gonna lie I’m pretty bummed it’s not a cut to top 8 with 3 more rounds of Swiss like at Gencon, single elim games are boring....

Can I ask why you had Advanced Transponder Net on your AFMk2 because as far as I can see most of your fighters aren't heavy. Was it in case of enemy Intel squadrons, and did it work?

Yea it basically gives a big ol’ middle finger to Intel. “Ur in this squad battle now whether you like it or not”

Without it enemy squads are free to start whaling on the frigate which can force an inopportune drop

SWAE will be streaming the finals game Sunday morning 9am PST!

Commentary either from myself and/or other talking heads!

Are we able to get most of the lists?

Big question, though - how often did it come up? IE., are people tending to run lists with Intel that want to fly through your squad ball and ignore it, hitting your ship?

Currently I'm thinking expanded hangar bay for the same price, just to keep my squad alpha strong, but...now I'm wondering, if there is still a lot of Intel running around (and specifically Intel used to bypass CAP rather than just reposition)...

Nope, lists were not taken or recorded in any fashion by the TO.

Intel is rampant in my area and fairly important to let MMJ bomb ships

Yeah I took 4th and was a bit bummed it was only a top 2.. but LVO went from 3 players to not holding a tourney to 40+ players this year, so I'm happy it was a legit big tourney and I did well as I haven't played a 400pt game vs an experienced player for 3 months :)

To be fair to Matt, he was expecting maybe half the field he got. He volunteered to run it awhile back and found out this week it was 40+ players. Tourney was run tight and very well but it was just Matt keeping things going so was no frills.

Think of it as taking EWS vs squads if you have your own squads except it works for multiple sides and doesn't take a defensive slot.
