With a description that seems to put special emphasis on AGoT? Tell me Nate's just getting some help and he's not really going anywhere.
Associate LCG Designer?
Well, they released Warhammer, and all indications from AGoT and CoC are that the LCG model has been a real success for FFG. Maybe they're expanding the department (i.e., Nate) more than anything else? The fact that it's "Associate Designer" rather than just "Designer" says to me that FFG is growing, not that Nate isn't going anywhere.
So who's applying?
If only they didn't require a relocation, I'd my hat in the ring again.
The Seven know I've designed enough fantasy card sets. Hell... an entire block, really.
Yeah, if I didn't have a job I'd be all over this.
And I agree I think this is more help for the lines, not a replacement. I actually expect that we'll be seeing an annoucement soon possibly around Origins or Gen Con that FFG will be releasing a fourth LCG, and this may be part of that.

If you look back at the LCG Super-Regional even schedule, James Hata (late of UFS world-champion-ness and subsequent designer/developer-hood) had taken over as the developer for both Warhammer: Invasion and Call of Cthulhu. So I'm guessing it means that AGOT and whatever other projects Nate has, and James workload is enough to warrant additional assistance.
They have the LOTR license (War of the Ring, the other board games so far released)... so i wonder...
... granted they'd have to make a game better than decypher's variant. Though if they based it around the silmarillion instead that would be sweet. (I wanna see a sons of feanor deck.)
Well, I know of one GoT player who is applying, but don't want to name any names if he wants to remain "shy."
And it isn't the Nick-ler (I feel I should start this with a ~, but that would likely be taken the wrong way).
