They were NPE and potentially OP as well. We'll probably get some kind of interesting upgrades in a pack at some point, but TBH it's still a very good filler ship. Ezra with Sense or Foresight makes a great blocker and Rex is a fantastic distraction. Zeb is crazy cheap. Sabine is crazy mobile. All for a bargain price.
You don't need immunity from attacks to make bringing a TIE worthwhile. It was the Empire's ship first anyway.
Personally, I'm kind of glad Captured TIE is gone. @ClassicalMoser is right that it was kind of NPE. The level of cheap support Ahsoka provided was strong.
I'm perhaps a bit sad about the loss of access to crew/illicit slots. That could be fun, and it wouldn't need a title per se, just add them in. But it's also not super important.
Anyhow, they did just come down in price. I mean, they had to, with reduction in cost in Imperial TIEs and rebel Z-95s.
I really wish they'd try to push the price on Rebel TIEs (maybe not Rex) a bit more aggressively, since I think I'd mostly rather just have an A-Wing.

Wouldn't have been busted without the title, but with it she was like Whisper/Vader.
But what about Ahsoka in an A-Wing?
1 minute ago, theBitterFig said:Sabine is cool, but I don't know if she compares favorably to an A-Wing. Same price as a Phoenix, or a Green is 3 points more.
Honestly the Phoenix RZ-1 seems like a really solid ship on paper, at least to me. Sabine does have the advantage of boost > 1-turn > BR, and ending stress free. Crazy action economy and maneuverability. Mix with Senszra for maximum blocking/dodging potential and it all comes in at a neat 65 points. Seems almost like a bargain to me.
But what about Sabine in an A-Wing?
...
In other news, I so want more card packs. I know we're hard to please but I need my Phoenix Leader vs Skerris thematic battle. š¢

So that reminds me of the time I went triple Fang aces into generic A-Wings. Believe me, it was a pretty close approximation of the show, with Fenn Rau nailing an A-Wing ever turn. Granted, this was back when generic A-Wing prices were *really* bad.
But yeah, I think everyone wants more card packs. I know some folks were annoyed that the RZ-1 didn't make the list first time out, but I've got to think they'll be coming down the pike before too long, and B-Wings got a tonne of stuff.

B-Wings still have less named pilots than the average ship, and they're crazy iconic so there's not much excuse for that.
Still, it was mostly an upgrade pack release. They might go faction-specific in the future (which I would prefer) or do a big box set with an OT theme, potentially with campaign stuff, further down the line. Alex said there's some cool new stuff for Epic in the works, so who knows? I like to get my hopes up for nothing so I can be spectacularly disappointed...
Edit: And by "stuff" he specifically meant "products"

A SW Rebels campaign set would be amazing.

Even early rebellion in general would be cool so they can include Laren Joma, Antoc Merrick, Chirrut ĖĖImwe, and other Rogue One characters as well.
Definitely a lot more Rebels content to mine though, for sure. Almost certainly lower overhead and higher profit margin than making new ships, so Asmodee should be happy about it. I'm also fairly certain that Hotshots and Aces has been selling very well and will continue to do so as well. I got one from B&N but I'm getting another from my FLGS for upgrades (and to support them even though I don't go there often enough).
My pitch for campaign sets:
Five of them: Clone Wars; Rebels/Rogue One/Solo; Original Trilogy; Sequel Trilogy; Legends (Maarek Stele video game stuff, Corran Horn and Rogue Squadron stuff, Thrawn stuff).

- They'd have pilots and upgrades like the Hotshots and Aces pack.
- Possibly include also stuff which is scenario-only (and not Hyperspace or Extended), like inappropriate pilots in the TIE Defender.
- They'd have missions/scenarios like the Epic Battles kit.
- Probably some of it would be ongoing campaign, as opposed to one-offs.
- Possibly (but not necessarily) include alternate paint jobs.
- Models can be nice, but it also means that it'd be a much more expensive proposition.
- Would I rather pay $40 with a model, or $25 without?
- Honestly, $25; I already have enough of most ships...
Precisely.
Well, maybe Iād add more scum and potentially subtract Legends, though it would be an interesting space to explore.
Of course, I can think up product offerings all day, but the nitty gritty of game design and balance is so much more painstaking.
Edited by ClassicalMoserwhat? OP? Never seen it that bad.
They really don't have a need in 2e. Like a lot of ships.
Why play Decimators when you can play.... anything else for better value?

Because 16 health with Reinforce and words is quite good for less than 80 points base?
Because their durability means any toys you put them on tend to stick around for a while, increasing their value?
Because they won a 80-player Grand Championship a couple months back?
Ezra with Foresight sounds pretty promising. His TIE incarnation probably pays less for Force than any other chassis in the game, and should be able to earn his 35 points.
It does strike me as odd that he's still 2 points more expensive than Sabine, when Sabine's Attack Shuttle incarnation is 1 point more than Ezra's.

I want Psycho Tycho back really, really badly. Losing him shook my attachment to Rebels in a big way, and was maybe the deciding factor in me getting out of them (though FAR from the only factor). If he returns, Iāll pick up an RZ-1 again just so I can fly himāI have many fond memories of his 1.0 shenanigans.
But I digress. Iāve ended up with a micro skeleton crewās worth of Rebel stuff for various reasons, including TIE conversion parts. Iām looking forward to flying this once I can get my hands on the aces pack:
Leia Organa (79)
āZebā Orrelios (24)
Ezra Bridger (31)
Foresight (4)
Jan Ors (41)
Engine Upgrade (2)
Moldy Crow (18)
Total: 199

In my mind, Zeb is indeed cheap filler. But Iāve flown against this Ezra, and he can be nasty. Maybe itās just my own inexperience at facing him, but he was able to punch well above his ostensible weight. Itās not even that heās super good; itās more that heās a distraction who can make himself painful to ignore, especially if you can line him up with some bumps on enemy ships...

To be fair, without a high Initiative pilot, Captured TIE wouldn't be too bad. Senzra would get better, but Rex would be completely useless with it. Zeb and Sabine would be okay, but nothing special. Sabine's Masterpiece might need some retooling to not get silly, likely not adding the crew slot. Perhaps the title could just be EMP device from 1st edition.

Mostly, I've got friends who really love the old video games. There's enough folks whose favorite ship is the Gunboat, who would probably really love to have missions based on the games.

The problem with upgrades like Captured TIE is that they're very binary: either the enemy has a ship that can shoot them and it's basically useless, or they don't have a ship that can shoot them and its obnoxiously powerful. This makes them very hard to balance.

So that is only I1 pilots for Rex and Zeb, and I1-I2 pilots for Sabine and Ezra. I'm not seeing how this would be powerful. Without a crew slot or Ahsoka's ability, it doesn't seem super strong. I am open to being wrong, though.

But then youād never pay for it. Either itās totally useless or itās insanely OP.
Personally, Iām glad that abhorrent thing is gone. Call me old-fashoned, but it should have never been what it was, or even is. Salt. Salt. Pepper to taste.
now, if weāre wanting to cry about something from 1.0 that didnāt make the transition but should have, letās talk something fun, cool, star-warsy and good but not OP, letās talk:
