I seem to remember an entry that was in response to the question "Can the defender choose not to roll defense dice." I can no longer locate it. Does anyone remember it or was I hallucinating?

Not sure where you saw that, but i do not think that is true, given this entry on RR pg 5.

During an attack, a ship cannot choose to roll fewer dice than it is supposed to roll.

Rolling Zero dice, would be rolling fewer than you are suppose to, unless your agility is lowered or your dice pool is lowered to 0.

You always roll defense die, formally even against attacks that missed since there is no choice, i.e. may used in the RR.

(And I also remember a question in the frame of shooting your own ship with Deadman's Switch.)

May be this is what I was remembering. The answer,in my mind, was that you always rolled green dice.
