Very useful. Thank you.
Just having a quick read through and noticed this:
If a character encounters a “draw 2 cards” space, like the Ruins, he can ditch an Object or
Follower after drawing the first card to avoid drawing the second card. Remember that if a
character ditches Objects or Followers he cannot take them back during the same turn.
Is this an official ruling? It just seems wrong to me if you draw 2 enemies you would fight them together as they come at you together. Also if thats the case why can't you ditch a card on a draw a card space to stop from drawing a card.
If it is an official rule it will be one I will have a house rule not to use it. For me if it says draw 2 cards you draw 2 cards the only exception is if a card is already on the space a card is already on the space.

And this board seriously needs an edit function, sorry for the repetition and grammar in the above im tired.

FAQ (the official one), p. 1:
"Ruins
Q: Can a character ditch an Object or Follower after drawing
the first card to avoid drawing the second card?
A: Yes. Remember, however, that if a character ditches
Objects or Followers he cannot take them back during the
same turn."
Also, you can ditch 1 card on a draw 1 card space to avoid a draw:
"If a character ditches Followers or Objects onto a draw cards
space (see “Ditching Followers and Objects” on page 16), he
may only draw enough cards to make up the given number
that may be drawn. For example, a character ends his move
on a Draw 1 Card space and then ditches one of his Objects.
He does not draw any cards now since there is already a card
on his space.
A character may ditch Followers or Objects on a space to avoid
drawing more cards, but he may not take them back during
the same turn." (p. 9)
Wow been playing talisman for years and I mean years my brother had the 1st edition, and I've never noticed that infact I've never ever played it that way. Thanks for pointing it out.
Personally I don't like that idea and we will just keep playing as we always have. Ignorance can be bliss sometimes
.
H.
never played like that either, and i have played since the 1 ed.
. more fun if you must draw cards, this way you are forced to ex fight 2 enemies.
