So some Ion attacks still require to get a set number of hits to add Ion Tokens, Now Large ships require 3 Tokens to suffer being Ionized. The question is, "If an enemy hits a large ship with only one ION token, does that Ion stick to the ship until it gets enough to cause it to be Ionized and have to do the Ionized Maneuver or is there a way that the Ion token gets removed before then and if so how would that work?"

Check page 20 of the RRG under Token Colors and Shapes. Ion tokens stay with the ship until it becomes ionized and does the blue straight one. As for removing a token before becoming ionized, there's probably a pilot, crew or upgrade that can do that but you'll need to check that on your own.

Ion tokens are in this group. Meaning, until an effect or ability removes them, they remain on the ship (even though the End Phase). Normally, this means they stick around until the ship performs an Ion Maneuver, but there are other ways to get rid of them.
