FO Triple Aces / Support Aces

By LeMightyASP, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I've argued in the past that daredevil is a great talent for the Tie/Ba due to the flexibility it provides and because the cost is somewhat obsolete on the Tie/Ba. I then noticed that squad leader is also a talent that has a manageable cost on the Baron. What's more, since the FO has Biohexacrypt code, and the Baron can get a lock besides it's normal action every turn, you could turn the Baron into a super long range support ship, while also somewhat keeping it's ace capacity.

Imo the ship on FO that takes best advantage of the coordinate support is Blackout, since it wants to park behind a rock on a turn, and then have a focus + roll from a coordinate to choose from which side of the rock it will go through.

Lastly, for the points that are left, i think that Vonreg is the best piece to round out the list, which leaves the list with 3 aces:

"Blackout" (63)
Trick Shot (4)

Ship total: 67 Half Points: 34 Threshold: 3

"Holo" (54)
Squad Leader (12)
Biohexacrypt Codes (1)

Ship total: 67 Half Points: 34 Threshold: 2

Major Vonreg (57)
Daredevil (2)

Ship total: 59 Half Points: 30 Threshold: 2

Total: 193

Thoughts? Do you think that squad leader, biohexacrypt code Baron is a viable support option?

Holo is almost a coordinator anyway, not sure if he'd need SL too.

Holo can't pass barrel rolls though, and that's what Blackout needs. You kinda get a phase in the game where Holo acts like a supernatural reflexes for Blackout that also gives focus, all the while also maintaining it's point by staying far from the fighting.

I understand that leaving your ace purposely out of the fight sounds like a bad plan, but i think that Blackout gets such a big dice advantage when he is in perfect conditions that he doesn't need the extra gun to get a good engagement

(Edit:) Also, while i could use a generic Baron as a much more effective support ship, it would later stick out like a sore thumb when it would be required to arc dodge, and coordinate at i5 is also a lot more valuable
