Clone Flight Seven (Republic Hyperspace)

By Waldorf28, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This list is pretty straightforward but hits hard. I'd been flying it with Broadside instead of Plo, but it turns out CLT Jedi are pretty good. Who knew? So two is better than one. Battle Meditation means that the Arcs can be double-modded on the first engagement. If you fly Plo behind Obi then he can stay back on the first pass and send a Focus to Obi when he procs Battle Meditation for the Arc locks.

Dedicated is an option on the Arcs and might permit than to keep your fragile Aethersprites alive, but I'd rather have the two point bid. Foresight on Plo is another option, but the hallmark of this list is simplicity, and to my mind that means keeping your triggers straightforward too.

Turns out from the fluff on the Squad Seven Veteran card that this list is just about as fluffy as heck :).

Clone Flight Seven

(48) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Delta-7 Aethersprite]
(4) Calibrated Laser Targeting
(10) Battle Meditation
Points: 62

(44) Plo Koon [Delta-7 Aethersprite]
(4) Calibrated Laser Targeting
Points: 48

(44) Squad Seven Veteran [ARC-170 Starfighter]
Points: 44

(44) Squad Seven Veteran [ARC-170 Starfighter]
Points: 44

Total points: 198

This list is now 3-0 and has tabled every opponent. I think I've found my jam for the UK System Open :).

More reps required to see if I've just been getting lucky.

Keep us posted :)

Can you share what archetypes you faced? (CIS Swarm, Empire Aces...)

I'd agree. Don't underestimate the value of a squad where you don't have to keep track of the opportunities to use a dozen or so abilities at once and can use your mental effort for actual strategy .

Indeed. Bullseyes are not easy to get but they are a lot easier than some people think (especially with I5 pilots and a decent bid), and the Calibrated Laser Targeting Effect is pretty lethal if you have a focus available.

So far it's been a combination of Rebel Beef and Scum mini-swarm, so nothing too acey. The two players who jousted me regretted it, and the one who tried to flank couldn't escape the broad arc coverage of the Squad Sevens and the manoeuvrability of the Aethersprites.

I need to face some I6, since so far I've had the initiative drop on everyone. I suspect however that's a feature of a generic heavy Hyperspace format.
