Vibranium Suit Clarification

By mysticknight232, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

Can you use Vibranium Suit to move dmg if your Black Panther is at full health? What if BP has only taken 1 point of dmg and Vibranium Suit is the only upgrade you have in play making it a 2 dmg ability, can you move only the 1 dmg to another target? The answer seems obvious but I just want somebody else’s opinion/clarification on it.

thx!

You can’t move damage you don’t have. You can use it (either early in the chain or the end), but it only deals as much damage as you actually move.

I don’t think it even deals damage, just moves it, which could be significant for future cards that react to or interrupt dealing damage.

but you are right, can’t move damage that isn’t there.

Edit: I was wrong, damage moved is actually considered dealt in this game.

MOVE
Some abilities allow players to move game elements, such as cards, damage, or threat.
• When an element moves, it cannot move to its same (current) placement.
• If there is no valid source or destination for a move, the move cannot be made.
• It is possible for damage to move between dials and cards (and vice versa).
• If damage is moved from a dial to a card, increase the hit points tracked by the dial by the specified amount (no higher than the card’s maximum hit points), and place the same amount of damage on the card.
• If damage is moved from a card to a dial, remove damage from the card and reduce the dial by the same amount.
• If damage is moved to a character, the moved damage is considered to be dealt to that character.
• If threat is moved to a scheme, the moved threat is considered to be placed to that scheme.

When damage is moved to a character, it is dealt to that character. But you still need actual damage to move in the first place.

They clarified that moving damage deals it pretty early, which is good because that has worked differently in other FFG games so it could have been confusing.
