Holo and Vonreg Together

By dsul413, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Something thrown together tonight. Might try it soon on Vassal or once I receive the ships. Rivas works well off of Vonreg's ability and Mag Pulse Warheads with strain/deplete, the I1s should be plenty able to block and get in the mix, and the I5/I6 combo will be reasonably effective I think. Holo can support Vonreg or push unwanted strain/deplete to the epsilon fodder. We'll see. It's not nearly as much health as a lot of the lists I'm seeing at the moment, so it may be a bit reliant on variance.

If you want a bit of back-and-forth with abilities, Rivas works well with Vonreg and the magpulses (but is good enough not to rely utterly on him - any epsilon locking a target triggers his ability), and a good pair in turn for Rivas is Lieutenant LeHuse, who can 'snag' that free target lock and use it to reroll a much more impressive attack from a Special Forces Gunner TIE/sf.

LeHuse is 49 points with a Special Forces Gunner, and is the same initiative - albeit with a tougher but less manoeuvrable TIE than "Holo". That difference is enough to allow, say, Fanatical/Hull Upgrade without breaking the bank.

I also think LeHuse could be a good replacement for the 2 epsilons

/I 100% agree. I have a couple lists built for Vonreg/LeHuse/Rivas/+1. I think its going to be strong. You can fit Rush or Avenger in there or, like you said @LeMightyASP , keep Holo as the 4th. Flexible.

Holo in particular seems really good with the lieutenantscombo if they are running magpulse, because at i 5 you can have LeHuse spend Rivas' lock for a double modded, then have holo shoot their warheads and after depleting the enemy Rivas gets its lock again, which he can use at i1 for double mods as well

Holo is a good general purpose ship. He can play 'ace' with a decently manouvrable ship at I5 with an impressive disregard for negative tokens, or else play support ship by providing locks, evade or focus to someone else who needs it more.

I really believe Holo is going to be the winner out of this pack.
