How often does Maul trigger? (vs. Hate)

By Attulisator, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just wondering how often does Maul trigger when his ship is suffering more than 1 damage in a shot. E.g.: the enemy scores 2 hits. Does Maul trigger 2 times (giving you also 2 stress), because the damage cards are dealt one after the other? Or is it just 1 source, because it's only 1 attack that dealt 2 damage.

I'm asking, because hate is worded different than Maul: "After you suffer 1 or more damage, recover that many Forcepoints".

Mail triggers on every point of damage. But you have to take a stress. He can keep you alive when being focused fired on. He is also way more expensive

REFERENCE! (Seriously, it helps to have the actual card shown, to help determine the answer to the questions...)

As @eagletsi111 stated, Maul triggers after each point of damage you suffer. Obviously, you can't recover more force than you have across your ship & upgrades, but on a heavy ship (like Asajj Ventress, Kanan Jarrus, or possibly Leia Organa), it can really pay off in the long run (especially if you don't mind the stress piles).

Thanks a lot for your answers. And thank you emeraldbeacon for linking the card. I totally forgot to.

I got a bit confused, when both cards recover force proportionate to the damage, but with different wording. But now, when I think about it: Hate always restores as much force, as you received damage, because there is no downside to it. And Maul has a "may"-effect because of the stress you get, just to give you the choice to gain only 1 stress/recover 1 force, when suffering more than 1 damage.

I stumbled upon this because I was messing around with Leia (Falcon) equipped with Ezra (gunner), Maul and Kanan (crew) and hate to make it a forceoverkill..
