Currently released Heroes as Allies

By jonboyjon1990, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

Since leaks of future products have pretty much confirmed characters currently printed as allies entering the game as heroes - what do you think current heroes will look like as allies? And what aspect do you expect to see them in?

Some ideas:

Spider-Man: Protection, cost 4, 3 HP, 1 THW, 1 ATK. Enters play with 2 web counters. Action: Exhaust Spider-Man, deal 1 damage to him and remove a web counter> stun an enemy

Captain America: Leadership, cost 4, 3 HP, 1 THW, 1 ATK. Retaliate 1. Forced Response: after Captain America enters play, ready an ally. That ally gets +1 ATK or +1 THW until the end of the phase.

Your Spider-Man ally is terrible solely because the stun action hurts him. Hawk-Eyes ability is limited in activation and doesn’t hurt himself and you can still use him to thwart or attack or soak up an attack. Your Spider-Man’s ability is even more limited in activation and exhausts him so he can’t attack or thwart or soak up an attack. And their is no incarnation of Spidey that gets hurt from using webbing.

Cap shouldn’t have less attack and thwart than Falcon. His ability should target allies and hero's other than himself and last until the end of the round.

Yeah I'm more interested in the discussion of this topic than needlessly trashing people's brief 'back of a napkin' card designs.

Also, Spider-Man being exhausted doesn't stop him from defending, because you ready all your cards before the Villain phase.

Does Warmachine get hurt when he fires his guns? It's just about introducing some sort of cost to an ability. As is, he costs 1 more than Mockingbird, but does one extra stun. If using his stun ability didn't deal damage to him, you could stun twice, Thwart/Attack twice and chump block once, which seems a bit busted for only 1 more cost than Mockingbird.

Does Spider-Man discard a Web Counter, exhaust and take a Damage? You don’t mention what the web counters are for.

Whoops - yes of course.

Also: this thread was less about 'design your own cards' and more about - what do you think/hope for in existing heroes, printed as allies?

I could see maybe a She-Hulk ally for Hulk that’s like a reverse Daredevil - if she attacks, you can take one threat off a scheme.
