Limited Edition Naboo Royal N-1

By Singulativ, in X-Wing

The link on the FFG news page links to a random google doc. Is this legit?

Edited by IceManHG

There is now an official news article about it on the xwing product page:

Limited Edition Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter Expansion Pack Update

You will need to fill out a google docs form, which apparently requires that you be signed up with a google account, not just a FFG/‎Asmodée account. Oh and you only have until Sunday April 12th, at 11:59PM Central to fill it out. (The news article says Monday April 13th, the form itself says Sunday April 12th. Kind of an important error there).

**** of a way to stop scalpers.

There are some circumstances that may prevent problems from being fixed, identified, or communicated in a timely fashion though. Most offices are trying to limit their staff, if they're open at all right now. Once a problem crops up, there may not be enough manpower to solve it quickly. Yeah their communication on the matter has been sloppy, but I'd imagine they kinda have more pressing matters to worry about right now. It's not like a game designer or the techs running a game companies online store are considered "essential workers" so communication being murky at best seems pretty understandable to me, considering there is likely just a skeleton crew running the show right now. All their product ships from overseas, so I'd imagine the big concerns now are logistical ones, trying to track down shipments that may still be sitting in a warehouse or on a shipping yard somewhere, and iron out exactly when production of products at the printer will actually be in a shipable state. I want the shiny new ship too, but let's not lose perspective people. Entire country's have had to be quarantined, and almost every state in the US, including the one FFG is based in are under stay at home orders for non essential workers. There's a lot going on right now that trumps X-wing...

Yeah... I mean, you are correct. But the thing that you’re saying is the problem isn’t the problem. I’m keenly aware of the idea of skeleton crews and non-essential workers. That’s totally understandable and completely excusable, given the circumstances... but their statement should have been, “Hi everyone, sorry about the issues with the store, we’ll clear it up when we can, please bear with us in this difficult time, thanks!” Not, “Hey everyone, we’re here to make promises we can’t keep!”

I’m also a long-time Armada player, and the absolute failure of the marketing team on that game has been a years-long saga... lack of communication, inaccurate articles, broken promises, missed deadlines. It’s just apparent that when it comes to customer relations, they’re flying blind over there.

Now they’re posting info on Facebook, and not their official forums?

It’s fine. They’re good people, I love their games. I just hope they sort out their marketing department at some point, because I want them to continue to be successful.

It appears to be, yes. I mean, the worst you’ve done is give up your name and email.... pretty sure that information is elsewhere too.

I will say, I think the solution they’ve provided is a good one. Better than a click-scrum, and it ensures that the people who were going to the Con get first dibs, as they should!

Hey non tournament goers can apply too right?

Yup - doesn’t say anything about a limitation as to who can enter as long as it’s one per player.

The people who registered to go to Adepticon get first dibs then they do lottery for the rest of us.

@Darth Meanie you see this?

Radical.

Oh thank goodness.

Went to Adepticon last year, was too busy playing X-wing to stand in line to get a con-exclusive. When they announced more exclusives this year,I figured I'd be out of luck again, and then doubly so when after canceling the event, they said they'd open up on line -- in the middle of a workday where I can't get online to buy anything.

I'll take a reservation code, thanks.

How about some System Open alt arts while we're at it too, FFG?

Yea, I mean Post-Covid FFG marketing isn't really separable from Pre-Covid FFG marketing. It's always been a hot mess, at best. Still generally better than Organized Play, but that's not saying much.

I saw Matt Holland on Facebook say to not count on the SoS stuff. I’m guessing the only reason they’re offloading the N1s is to minimize the hit they’re taking (that, and the N1 says 2020 exclusive on its box). I suspect that the SO content will find its way into the worlds’ prize wall or other OP events in the future rather than just be made available.

No, so thank you.

So, I was registered to go to Adepticon but not to play in the System Open. I was playing a XWM team epic event. Does this mean I'm NOT guaranteed to get one??

I also hope they don't decide that "Jim" and "Tim" is me trying to scan 2 of them. {Yeah, that was fun growing up, when mom was calling to us out in the yard. . .}

I’m not sure - I would suggest throwing your name in for consideration as a backup plan but also reach out to FFG OP.

Just trying to help make sure you’ve got the shot for this one.

I know accounts are monitored via which IP addresses are used. I hope they put that into consideration so they can make sure people whom signed up properly have a good chance before others with multiple accounts trying to cheat the system, and for honesty.

As someone who actually PLAYS N-1's, I hope they actually produce enough to give me a chance, rather than let them all be grabbed by random hoarders and scalpers.

Well considering it’s limit 1 per person now, you won’t find much in the way of scalpers or hoarders. At least, a scalper is going on have a more limited success since they can only get one to move.

I too am hoping for one so I can have a unique veteran wing leader in epic 🙂

I tried to sign up for this but it keeps telling me im ot signed in. if I can respond on this page im signed in correct? am I missing something?

The page is set up on the Asmodee store, shipping is $16.89 US so $37 for a $20 ship...really???

A. Don't get one. More chance for the rest of us, because I still want one.

B. I actually began to think that with this level of demand, maybe FFG should be charging a small premium for Limited Edition ships. Then, only the really serious players would be willing to pony up, and the not-so-serious players would let it go because they can just buy a {in this case} yellow one.

This new development makes me wonder about my previous guesses.

Ticked I can only get one now (without using very simple workarounds, duh)

More ticked that it's by lottery!?

Ffs and FFG are getting more synonymous by the week.

You say that like it wasn't going to be a lottery before.

At least now they're being open about it, rather than having everyone play the "who can refresh faster" mini game to see who gets lucky.

Or the game of who gets to the page and able to buy before the site crashes.

Well, they are being "System Open" about it, but I'm currently afraid I play the wrong kind of XWM to get a personal redemption code even if I was supposed to be at Adepticon playing Team Epic XWM.

Respectively the timezone/workplace game on top of the refresh game. Lucky you who has a desk job with somewhat free time allocation and computer on hand, and not being pilot/engineer/driver, machine operator, security or nursing staff etc. who cannot just interrupt their work and play with an electronic device.

Unlucky you who has to play the refresh game at 2 am in the morning for being in the wrong time zone.

No, the current way FFF has done it now is a lot more just.
