Missing pieces...

By Kahai, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I picked up this game a few days ago and I noticed that, upon unboxing it, I realised that I was missing one of the cardboard tile sheets which comes with the game.

As the box comes with pieces VA09 B 1 of 4, B 2 of 4, B 3 of 4 and B 4 of 4. Instead of getting B 4 of 4, I got a duplicate of B 3 of 4. Although this isn't something I noticed until I tried to set up the game (and realised that a few investigators were missing tokens), any assistance would be appreciated in not only 'how' to get the missing pieces from the manufacturer, but 'what' I am missing.

I have no idea what that means. Does FFG have some sort of contact information at the back or front of the instruction manual? You could also return it to a store or elsewhere (if you bought it from a physical location).

Here's a general component list:

http://www.arkhamhorrorwiki.com/Arkham_Horror

You'll have to go into each section to see the pieces arranged by expansion (there's a little button with two triangles pointing at each other you can click for the lists of data to arrange the information by type i.e. expansion).

You are most likely missing to much to play the game.

As far as contacting FFG send them an e-mail via the contact info on this website.

Better yet as pointed out, if you bought the game at a store they should be able to open another box for you (and contact FFG themselves to get a replacement).

Good luck!

I had the exact same problem when I first got this game. As has already been pointed out (Edit: pointed out twice lengua.gif) the simplest option is just to take it back to the store you got it at. With a defective product I'm sure they would be happy to swap in a new copy. I wasn't able to do that (I bought it while visiting my sister a long way from where I live) so I sent in a report from the website and they mailed me all the pieces from sheet 4.

I don't know what you're missing, but here are the one's you have duplicates of:

"5 gates
Another Dimension (+0) Great Hall of Celeano (-1) Yuggoth (-2) The Dreamlands (+1) The Abyss (-2)
3x Migos
3x Byakhees
2x Night Gaunts
3x Ghosts
2x Warlocks
3x Dark Young
2x Hound of Tindalos *(you really, really do not want 4x of these guys!!)
2x Cthonian (likewise)

2x Clue Tokens

The extra stamina and sanity, skill markers, and doom track tokens are not a problem

And you should be able to figure out which Adventurers you have 2 x of pull out the double"

From the email I was sent on the problem.

Thanks for the replies and yeah, getting into contact with the vendor was the very first thing I did. Unfortunately, they did not have any spare copies and their policy on returns pretty much stated that I should 'get in contact with the manufacturer'.

When first opening the game, I didn't actually realise anything was missing until I noticed, when sitting down to play, that some investigators were missing their tokens. It is quite frustrating since I spent $100 AUD on a game I cannot play.

A place to find this report would be quite helpful, although I am worried about expensive overseas deliveries since I live in Australia and all...

As much as this sucks for you at the moment then I am positive that FFG will sort it for you.

As far as your vendor goes, then they are at fault. You paid for a product you didnt get (despite getting it partially), if they had no liability they could simply sell a ton of empty boxes without any consequences. In reality they are liable to you and FFG is liable to them (for the faulty product).

You should be able to return the defective game and get your money back to buy it elsewhere, they might not want to back down but they should if you push your justifiable claim. If they dont have a spare copy and there is no other local vendor, it doesnt really matter since contacting FFG yourself takes the same time as them doing it on your behalf.

FFG doesnt have any records of selling you the game, they DO have records of selling your vendor the game (a contract of sorts). That being said I dont think you will have any problem getting help from FFG.

Once its all done and sorted you will really love the game! I also would advise you to drop that vendor.

Thanks a lot everyone for giving me advice. I've sent an email to FFG regarding my problem and I hope that everything can be resolved. As for the vendor, I've pretty much written them off as a place for purchasing games.
