They OBVIOUSLY left him in Hyperspace for a reason! His ability to convert friendly disarm tokens into stress is going to catch many lists unaware!

My turn, glad I don't need to make a new post:

Republic: Really sad to see the faction specific upgrades get left out, and I think that just pretty much mass-removing them is sad. Cutting Anakin pilot from the Aethersprite was probably not needed either, especially with the force talents decimated. I'd love to hear why V19s were cut completely. I think there are some really good pieces left, and four-ship Republic has a lot of build options. The problem? They all are a little too fair to compete probably.

Empire: Duchess is really good guys, and Vader still has passive sensors. You don't get the safety of afterburners so you still need to plan well to play him. Also strikers? This faction isn't NEARLY as dead as people proclaim. Biggest whiff is too aggressive on dropping I1 strikers. 32 would have been better. RIP Sabaac, no shield upgrade for you.

Rebel: Death to Wedge, long live Thane, everyone's second favorite movie pilot (to Redline). No actually Wedge was just such an autoinclude efficiency piece I'm glad they left him out. Rebels actually feel a lot like Republic in that they have some serious 4 ship efficiency options out there, with some random Falcon builds being another archetype. I don't play enough to know where they messed up here, seems fine tbh.

CIS: Man, so I confess I hate that Ensnare is in the game period. However, I don't think it needed to be removed from Hyperspace. CIS overall will be just fine, if a little boring. We'll see. Another faction I don't play.

First Order: ITS A TRAP. New ace faction so that's neat. Has some other stuff happening too, but the loss of the Upsilon also means the loss of the most interesting ship. Tavson was good but could be played around. I don't think FO will be particularly good. Holo is going to cause more judge headaches than anything else.

Resistance: I think this has the most interesting opportunities in the game. It boasts the best I6 in Poe, who just got better with Mag-Pulse. RZ2s are super good, generic T70s are cheap as all get out. Cova is still very solid. They lost Finn, who might be the single most annoying ship in the game. No ITS THE RESISTANCE so we all lose out on the wonky crap that brings. My dark horse pick for most powerful faction.

Scum: Saved these for last, because I think Scum is going to be the meta-defining faction. I think there will be a Rock-Paper-Scissors meta with Aces beating Efficiency, who in turn beat Generic Spam, who in turn beats Aces. Scum has 4 lists in particular that I think will be quite strong: Boba-Fenn (already was very good, didn't really lose anything), Fenn and 3 Recruits (Gained a bid which is really important), 4 Fearless Skulls (possibly the scariest thing 5x or 6 Strikers can see across the table), and Snapshot Spam (guys it's 30 points for snap shot mining ties). I don't think Scyks are good still because they don't really have a good force multiplier.

I think FO will be fine.

I do agree the upsilon is an interesting ship and I feel the xi shuttle could really buff it. So it's kind of a shame they took it out of hyperspace.

When FFG FAQ'd composure they fixed Holo. Players may call a judge to see if holo is outside of range 2 but that's about it. It went from egregious to reasonable...

I was able to pick one up and I was surprised how often I transfered the deplete token instead of the focus token.

Well, don't know you'd qualify it as good, but Tractor Scyks can be their own force multiplier. There's just enough points now to take 4x Tractor Scyks and 4x MGT Sentries, so while the force multiplier isn't consistent it is spread across half your swarm and gives you some ability to control where the enemy is positioned.

Fo don't have bombs. I do think it's funny typing in "bombs and delayed fuses" but some factions don't take it.

I did some list building and I'm not sure who's got the better Snap Shot swarm between Imps and Scum. They can both fit 6 Snap Shots in a list.


Snap Shot Del Meeko + 5x Snap Shot Black Squadron Aces

I3 gives Imperials the edge on engagement against generic spam, and with enough damage pushed through on Snap Shot, Del Meeko's ability can put in work in the first round of shooting even against aces. Del's ability is also less restrictive than Serissu's for his wingmates to benefit, but requires the opponent to be damaged before it benefits the rest of the squad. Mauler Mithel and Scourge can replace Del Meeko for I5 and the extra damage output, but the squad loses Del's defensive benefits.


Snap Shot Serissu + 5x Snap Shot Mining Guild Surveyors

Serissu's ability is always active, which gives Serrisu the edge earlier in a match over Del, and is I5 giving her some ability to contend with opposing aces. However, the Surveyors are only I2 vs. the Imps I3, and for the Surveyors to benefit from Serissu's ability, they have to fly in formation to stay in range 1 making them predictable and easier to arc dodge. Serissu's also a bit more durable than Del thanks to the shield. Serissu could drop Snap Shot for a cannon and a bid, Fearless or Outmaneuver.


Snap Shot Laetin A'shera /w Hull Upgrade and Tractor Beam or Ion Cannon + 5x Snap Shot Mining Guild Surveyors

Unlike Del and Serissu, ships are completely independent of eachother. Tractor Beam and Ion Cannon both work as sorts of force multipliers, either by taking away defense dice and repositioning a target to get more shots in, or making it easier to set up a double tap kill box once anything gets ionized. With Hull Upgrade (which ups his halfpoints threshold to 3 hits) + pre-engagement Evade token opportunities from Snap Shot + his ability providing even more Evade tokens with each evaded shot, Laetin will be ridiculously durable for his chassis which is good to have on your force multiplier. Downside is no defensive benefits for the Surveyors and Laetin only being initiative 3.


Defensively, I think Del's got the advantage with his larger range on getting evasion rerolls and higher initiative wingmates avoiding I3 initiative kills while having the ability to iniative kill I2s, while Laetin dominates offensively with his control cannon and being potentially very frustrating for the opponent to try and remove. Serissu gets to fight at ace initiative, but unlike Laetin, she can only afford a cannon or Snap Shot instead of getting everything, and is outdone by Del once his ability's requirement is met. I'm thinking Del > Laetin > Serissu/I5 Imp TIEs?
